Christopher begun Tiger Scouts in Spring 2005. Gene went through the training to become a Den Master/Leader as that was the only was for Christopher to join (all the dens were full). At his age, though, starting with everyone else in the Fall would put him at the Wolf level (without having performed at Tiger). Gene wanted him to earn the Tiger badge & such, so it was tough, but we got him through a year's worth of work in about a month(!) See below some of the things we did!!
KYXY Radio Station Tour with Gene Knight and Sam Bass -- this was a lot of fun. Christopher got to meet the personalities, sit in the sound booth / at the "board" and chat with Gene Knight.
San Marcos Museum & Historical Society -- Christopher got to see an old "pioneer-style" classroom, scooter & a real fire engine from the early San Marcos days.
Earning his Tiger Paw -- this was his first Den Performance/Meeting. The Tiger Paw is the first step.
Campout -- this was a whole weekend event, full of classes on knot-tieing, knife safety, etc. as well as a Camp Fire Performance - skits, singing & even an official "retirement" of a U.S. Flag!
