- Depth
- 12-45 meters
- Sea Bed
- Most of it is Posidonia but to the left it is
rocky and quite interesting, further out it is
sandy.
- Interests
- There is quite a large cave and a recently
scuttled vessel, the Um
El Faroud.
- Speciality
- Cave/Wreck Divers
- Dangers
- The Cave can be dangerous because the bottom is
silt and visibility can get very low if
disturbed, although there are another two exits
higher up. The wreck is recent and hence does not
present much danger structure-wise. One should
still be on the lookout for the roof tiling
however. The wreck has several side hatches and
one can ascend from the engine room striaght
upwards and out through a shaft adjacent to the
chimney.
- Visibility
- Quite Good
- Navigation
- You go down at the entry point and round towards
the right of the wall where you will see a small
cave and further in you will see a larger one.
The entry at the bottom is easy for a diver but
be careful not to disturb the silt as this is the
only easy exit. There are another two exits
higher up but these are very restricted. Beyond
the caves is the wreck lying on the seabed at a
depth of about 36 metres. It can be found by
taking a bearing of 240 degrees from the bay
outlet.
- Entry/Exit Points
- Slip way or Giant stride entry and slip way as
exit point
- Shore/boat/long swim
- shore dive
