Well, it's way past the time when everyone started blogging, and here I am trying to catch up. Or not. Oh well..
The Family Beach Trip
photo

Finally... after sharing stories of how lovely Boracay island is to the family, I got the chance to show them!

Went to Boracay with Dad, Mom and all my sibs- Louie, Ian, JC and Charisse in May 2005. The Magpile's-- Tito Ric, Tita Tess and Ging also joined us, as well as Tita Tessie Lamigo and Tito David Serrano who were back here in the Philippines for a vacation. We took the first flight out on SeaAir and got to Caticlan sometime after 7am, and were on the ferry to the island asap! We were all excited..

We ended up staying at Il Portico Inn along Station 2 and the rooms were big and nicely set-up. All the moms and dads shared the big room with three big beds on the 2nd floor, and then we kids all stayed in another room downstairs. The room had cable tv and a huge bathroom, 2 big beds and 1 small one. Il Portico was not beachfront but it was a 2-minute walk to the beach, and at the rate we got the rooms for, we were very satisfied! The resort also offered cooking services so the moms and dads went to the market to buy seafoods and fresh vegetables and we had hearty family meals. One good way to save money since we were a big group.

Showed them all the sights.. Had the usual Talipapa shopping trip, and also checked out the beads sold by the "manangs" along the walkway. Got glitter and henna tattoos with my bros and sis since Boracay trips aren't complete without these. Strolled along White Beach, went for a swim and built sandcastles, and just sat on the beautiful, powdery-white sands to enjoy the view. After dinner, went to Cocomangas and Pier One for drinks and to enjoy the cool night breeze of the sea.

We hired a boat and went snorkeling near Crocodile island and also visited Crystal Cove which was on Laurel island. Saw so many beautiful fishes and corals and it was wonderful to be seeing them together with my brothers and sister. The boat trip has been a great activity for us to spend time together and enjoy the beauty of the islands.

Just before sunset we walked along White Beach again towards Station 1 and took photos at Willy's Rock. It was low tide so we were able to climb up the rock and see the Virgin Mary grotto. We also walked all the way to Fridays and took pictures at the wooden "Fridays" sign.

Took some more pictures and enjoyed the sun in the water and lying on the sand. Needless to say I got a good tan and enjoyed one of the beautiful islands with people I love the most.
