Well, it's way past the time when everyone started blogging, and here I am trying to catch up. Or not. Oh well..
Boracay weekend in December

After work at 5am, I rushed off to the airport to meet my cousin, Carmelle, and her friend, Yora, and we flew to Boracay island on the first Asian Spirit flight that Friday morning.

Coming back to Boracay is always refreshing, and taking time away from the busy life in the city is something that I should be doing more often. It was just about a week before Christmas time and what better way to reward myself from being nice this year than to relax, right? Plus I had another excuse.. My cousin, Carmelle, just graduated from college and has to fly home to New York before Christmas, and she's never been to Boracay, so it's my chance to show her the sights and have fun in one of the Philippines' most beautiful islands. Her friend Yora has also not been to Boracay since the 90's so it was a good after-college treat for them...

We stayed at Crystal Sands Resort and were greeted with nice mango shakes and a welcome sign at the lobby. Had glitter tattoos while waiting for the sun to shine-- it started to rain just before lunch time, and then I had a really good afternoon nap. It rained all afternoon so it was a good time for us to sleep and rest, and at night we went to Waling-Waling for drinks (I had mango shake though) and stayed in the cabana while listening to the sound of the waves. Time for some girl bonding, too.

The next morning we had breakfast at the beach front, and then walked along the shores and did some sunbathing. Then we had lunch at my favorite lutong-bahay restaurant which moved to their new site at D' Mall, and then did our shopping at the talipapa for some trinkets, beads, lanterns and pasalubongs. Night time was time to try the buffet dinners served along Station 3 -- and they were good!

The next day was spent for sunbathing and swimming, and then we went to Cocomangas and Pier One for drinks and we were planning on dancing but then we didn't.. haha.. don't ask why anymore. We met a few new friends and exchanged stories and then had more drinks.

More time for swimming and sunbathing on our last morning, and thankfully the weather was pretty and we got perfectly good tans. Our finale was the delicious burgers and famous fruit shakes at Jonah's and then before we knew it, we were on the jetty and the plane heading back home. Bitin! But it was a fun 4-day vacation still.. of course I'd be back..
