Quality: Very Good
Chapter Menu: Every routine has been chaptered individually for easy access. This is actually the first gymnastics competition I ever recorded! TSN used to pick up many of ESPN's gymnastics broadcasts, so I was spoiled in my first few years as a gymnastics fan.
The story of how this DVD has come together is quite interesting actually. I recorded this meet on New Year's Eve 1985-1986. My parents were hosting a party that night and changed the channel while this was being recorded so they could do the countdown at midnight. So for several years, I was missing some footage. When I got into tape trading, I acquired another copy of this meet, and so when I captured and converted this one, I had two source tapes and was able to fill in the gaps.
The original tape was recorded in EP mode, and the missing routines that I edited in are of a slightly lesser quality. The original broadcast did include introductions of all the coaches and interviews with Sabrina Mar and Pam Bileck, but those are missing from my original recording, and were not included on the second version I acquired later.
The gymnasts featured in this DVD are:
In all four events:
Sabrina Mar
Kelly Garrison
Marie Roethlisberger
Tracy Calore
Pam Bileck
Yolande Mavity
In select events:
Jennifer Sey (Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam)
Lisa Wittwer (Vault, Balance Beam)
Jennifer Ferreirat (Vault)
Angela Denkins (Uneven Bars)
Joyce Wilborn (Floor Exercise)
