Video quality will be rated as follows:
Excellent +: This rating will be reserved for competitions captured directly onto my computer (using windows media center) and then burned to DVD.
Excellent: This rating will be reserved for DVDs converted from tapes recorded from TV by myself in SP mode, or something of similar quality.
Excellent - : I only began taping from TV in SP in 1999. DVDs converted from my original tapes taped in EP which have held up well will receive this rating. DVDs converted from tapes received in trades which have a quality almost as good as a first generation tape will also receive this rating.
Very Good: DVDs converted from older tapes taped from TV in EP, or something of similar quality will get this rating. Note that this is the highest rating I will give to home videos.
(Very) Good: This rating applies to DVDs that are slightly lower in quality than the above category. But they are very watchable. Some older stuff that I taped at EP will get this rating if they have not held up as well.
Good: This is the broadest category. I consider DVDs with this rating to be watchable but generally the picture is more cloudy and less clear than tapes wtih the higher ratings. Sometimes I give a tape this rating which is generally as good as a (Very) Good but perhaps the screen flips occasionally or there is a slight (but not overly annoying) tracking problem.
Good/Fair: I consider these videos to be more or less watchable, but with perhaps slightly more annoying picture problems, or sometimes just a less clear picture in general.
Fair: This rating is slightly less watchable than above. These videos tend to be more cloudy and/or have major problems in tracking/screen flipping etc.
Poor: It is unlikely that I will bother to convert tapes with this rating. These meets would basically be unwatchable and not worth copying.
