End users are people who use packaged computer programs to meet their unique needs for information.  End users use either microcomputers or have access to larger computers.

• Packaged Programs are programs that are bought rather than developed in-house by the user or the user's company.  Examples of packaged programs are word processors, electronic spreadsheets, database management, and presentation graphics software.  
  
• Needs are various organizing, managing, or business needs that are either information or decision-making related.  By becoming computer competent, you will learn how to use computers to meet you information needs, making you an efficient, productive, and valuable employee.
