Phase 6 -  Maintenance

System maintenance is first a systems audit and then an ongoing evaluation to see whether a system is performing productively.

  1. This is the last phase of the system life cycle.
  2. Systems maintenance has two parts.
    1. Systems Audit
      • The system's performance is compared to the original design specifications.
      • Determines if the new procedures are actually furthering productivity.
      • If not, further redesign may be necessary.

    2. Periodic Evaluation
      • New system is periodically evaluated to see if they meet goals and services described in the system analysis and design reports.
