Phase 6 - Maintenance
System maintenance is first a systems audit and then an
ongoing evaluation to see whether a system is performing productively.
- This is the last phase of the system life cycle.
- Systems maintenance has two parts.
- Systems Audit
- The system's performance is compared to the original
design specifications.
- Determines if the new procedures are actually
furthering productivity.
- If not, further redesign may be necessary.
- Periodic Evaluation
- New system is periodically evaluated to see
if they meet goals and services described in the system analysis and
design reports.
