Technology and People

 

People do not always accept new technology well and may react in different ways to using the technology.

  The Cynic
"These gadgets are overrated"
The Naive
"Let the computer make the decision"
The Frustrated
"This stuff doesn't make sense half the time"

       

  1. Cynicism
    1. Many people feel the benefits of using a microcomputer are overrated.
    2. They feel learning and using a microcomputer takes too much time.
        
  2. Naiveté
    1. People who are naive may view computers as magical boxes capable of solving all problems.
    2. They do not understand the difficulty of changing computer systems or of generating information.
        
  3. Frustration
    1. People who are frustrated may not want to take the time to learn about computers.
    2. They feel it is an imposition to ask them to learn new things in order to keep up with the changing technology.
