| Patrick Curtin of Mourneabbey, Co Cork, Ireland. Noted Historian |
| Patrick Curtin was born at Ballynockin townland, Mourneabbey, Co Cork on 7th April 1907. He passed away in the Mallow General Hospital on 22nd September, 2004. He was 97 years of age. His funeral was from St John The Baptist Church, Burnfoot, Mourneabbey with burial in the local cemetery. Pat was the 5th known Patrick Curtin in a direct line of ancestry that settled in the general Mallow area. |
| Patrick's parents were Patrick Curtin born 1861 died 1943 and Ellen Murphy who farmed at Ballyknockin in the Mourneabbey area of County Cork. Patrick and Ellen married in 1901 in Co Cork. This Patrick was the son of Patrick Curtin born February 1833 Killavullen townland died 1912 Cork City who married Julia Sheehan on 26th November 1859 in the Parish of Ballinamona, Co Cork. They farmed at Ballyknockin. |

| Patrick Curtin was born in 1833 months after his father died in 1832. His parents were Patrick Curtin and Margaret McCarthy who married in February 1822 in Killavullen townland, Co Cork. Patrick & Margaret farmed at Beenaskehy, Killavullen, Co Cork. |
| Patrick Curtin affectionately known locally as "Pats", married Sheila Murphy (daughter of Timothy Murphy) at Whitechurch, Co Cork in 1945. They raised a family of 5 children - Noreen, Patrick, Tim (known as Teddy), Eileen and Mary. |
| Pats was a noted Historian and always had great stories of the history of the area where he lived - notably Ballyknockin, Mourneabbey, Burnfoot etc. He was a nephew of Tomas MacCurtain, the Cork City Lord Mayor murdered in 1920. |
