The Arsein-Davis Family

Personnel Information

Family Members: Family by birth, marriage or adoption, fully trusted and integral to the future of the Family.

Associate Members: Members who are estranged or outside of the main Family, but are still considered Family. Deveron was one of these for a time, as was Janin.

Students: Because of the outposts on Shardakour and Coruscant, the Family has taken on students who are not Family members. The status of these students is uncertain as yet, though many have Family ties and are married into, or related to Family members.

Family Bylaws:

There no true rules within the Family other than Loyalty. There are traditions and necessary methods of operation however. All laran bearing persons are trained to at least minimal proficiecy. An untrained leronis is a danger to themselves and everyone around them. Anyone to be initiated into the Family secrets must be presented to the Family first.

  • Matrix Science (Laran)

Laran practitioners are a brand of Force User known as 'Alien Jedi'. Initially learned from an alien race known as chieri humans of the planet Darkover began to teach it to their gifted children and over time the gene was solidified along with that of red hair. Although not all practitioners have red hair the vast majority do.

Laran is manifested through a small blue crystal worn around the neck. Laran abilities diminish with range from the crystal but can be magnified when in a Circle of similarly trained matrix technicians. The size of the matrix determines how much it can magnify the energy fed into it (see the Darkover series of books).

At heart Laran is the ability to use internal bio-energy to power the matrix to work energy fields. In practice these field manipulations can be used to heal, control the weather or minds and memories. Create fire, heat, light, food and drink, anti-gravity and invisibility. Also to Walk the Overworld, another name for the Astral Plane. Practically all of the Darkovan practitioners are also telepaths and the matrix enhances this ability as well.

Initial training begins after an 'awakening' known as threshold sickness that comes around puberty usually but can occur much later. The later the worse the symptoms are to endure. These include severe nausea and a general desire to die. Threshold sickness lasts for a few days up to a month as the body learns to adjust to the opening of the 'pathways' that to the Force.

Initial Training lasts for 6 months in a Tower traditionally. The Tower is especially designed and warded to protect the sensitive and raw minds from random emissions, and also to protect the world at large from their uncontrtolled mental babble.

Those with a desire for advanced training can continue and become a Mechanic or Technician, or Monitor. Those with the greatest ability to channel the Force are removed and trained seperately by Keepers, undergoing a rigorous and painful process of learning to divorce one's emotions from what must be done. Known as Keepers, or in the ancient form, Teneresteis for a male, teneresta for a female, these rare beings live a life alone amidst their companions, and by tradition as well as training do not engage in sex.

    Houses, Installations and Towers:

The original Domain continues to reside on Darkover, known as Cottman IV, deep in the Kilghard Hills. Originally a small stone croft, it has grown into a small stone manor with stable, barn, mews, guest houses, greenhouse, blacksmithy, and so on. Pastures hold horses and the hills themselves are wooded with croplands here and there. The Domain here is under the Overlordship technically of the Aldarans. There is a landing area for ships nearby, and a stone tower. The buildings are laid out around a grassy central square and connected by underground tunnel corridors that are spacious and well lit, and much used during the heavy winters.

The second Tower established was on Betawan VII. A small rural community first sheltered the offworlders, similar to their home on Darkover, but shortly a large apartment building in a regional capital became their main Betawan base. The upper floors served as quarters for members coming and going, and the lower floors as offices for their shipping business. The penthouse suites became their Tower here, although never fully developed as such.

The Third Tower was formed on Shardakour, the first true Tower. A special wing added to the Palace and also at their sprawling three story mansion an hour away.

Part of their Circle's activities is to map the geologic resources of the System, and if a vein of ore is too expensive to mine normally, they work it to the surface, and assist with weather patterns like hurricanes and other natural disasters, train and assist the Alderson Gift children (with the Sith masters taking the larger role) and probably a lot of things I will think up later. Genetic engineering and specialty medical uses now and then. In Stormqueen they spoke of genetically engineered creatures. I dont see them creating pleasure slaves, but the techniques could be used for the genetic programs.

Some of the other systems then that they hold in posession or contracts on could be sent out temporarily to that area to ease the cost of initial mining get it set up and then normal mining can take over.

Helping the other vassal worlds exploit their resources more efficiently. And definately better to be offworld quietly during the Imperial Presence years...

The original Coruscant house was located on B'yss. Constructed in 1994 it began operation in August and was destroyed or damaged in December during the Palace bombing.

In August 2001 Deveron returned to Coruscant and Darana. Soon thereafter he began teaching students at the Household and developed a Tower there in a sublevel area near Darana's quarters. With the disbanding of the Household this area has been deconstructed and filled in with concrete.00000000

SELENION Selenion was originally the Davis family's primary base and Sanctuary in times of danger. It is a small, hollowed out moonlet floating in space at the Trojan point between the Tion and Dellalt systems in the Tion Sector. It can accomodate and support all Family members fully for six months. This base is heavily armored, defended, shielded and reinforced, It is not used as a repair facility although it could be. Casualties are treated here in a fully state of the art medical center and emergency refits are possible in a temporary space dock. After the Shardakouran transition, Selenion became a Sector Base for their shipping firm, and way station for their operations in the Unknown Regons.

Aurelian and Glorian, two shuttles, are stationed here as well as most of the unused Davis ships. As ships are damaged or brought in for repair or refit, the crews are transferred to one of these and continue on. Some of the Selenion ‘fleet’ are specialty vessels that are not needed very often, but all are kept ready to go at an hour’s notice.

WINGSTAR Wingstar is the name of the massive KDY Super Transport Xl that was converted into their primary ship renovation/repair facility. It has a complete spacedock capable of upgrading and refitting any vessel thus far in their fleet. It is large enough to carry any ship or station except Selenion itself. Originally, with it’s support fleet, Wingstar jumped daily to keep it’s location secret but now serves as their Fleet base for anti-pirate activity within the Alderson Worlds.

It was originally always within three hyperspace days of both Selenion and Firestorm but now is within a few light hours of their current activity area. All Wingstar systems are automated and all weapons systems are fed through the best targeting systems available.

FIRESTORM Once a Corellian transport, Firestorm was equipped with massive ray shielding, power generators, and solar collectors, then placed very carefully at the trojan point between two double stars where it would go undetected. Access to the station is only by two narrow magnetic channels between the double stars. Solar radiation makes the station undetectable until one is mostly through the channels. Both approaches are heavily sentried.

Raiders loot was originally relabeled here and shipped out under a Davis subsidiary name. All long range ventures were resupplied from Firestorm. Cargo was stored in holds until it could be shipped elsewhere aboard a regular vessel. Now Firestorm is used whenever someone needs to hide out for awhile. The base is three hyperspace days from the Betawan System and 2 from Shardakour.

ICARUS STATIONS These are sentry stations guarding the approaches to Firestorm. Essentially asteroids ferried into place and equipped with ion cannon and shields, they have never yet been needed. Keeper and Lancer guard approach 1 while Tenereistis and Archer guard approach 2.

ARGUS STATIONS Small, three man relay stations along many main shipping routes. They monitor all civilian and military traffic in the area and as at least one of the crew is always a Technician, they keep Mirand informed. Each base is well shielded by rock and shielding and has a small cloaking field capable of operating for limited periods of time, no more than six hours. The bases operate under the principal of ‘run silent’ at all times to avoid detection. Each base has a small, three man lightboat that is mostly engines and designed and equipped solely for speed, intended to get the crew away in case of detection.

Argus stations also operate as emergency rescue teams if Family are attacked or stranded anywhere in their area. There is generally one hidden near each main rebel base to facilitate dropoffs.

WEB STATIONS Web stations are supply dumps scattered around the Rim Sectors in case of need. They contain rations for two people for 3 months, 12 air mattresses with survival blankets, full field medical kits and survival gear as well as a small but powerful transmitter and a rechargable micro-power generator. They are generally bored into a cliff and are 10’X20’X10’ and have a connecting ladder that can be pulled up into the cave-shelter.

  • World Notes:

The Arsein are a subset of the Ridenows. Originally descended of Aldaran nedestra, with a non Comyn mother who was part of an ambitious family with a history of border raiding. The lady Raichel was lovely enough to capture the attention of several Comyn lords and bore several laran bearing children to her family deep in the Kilghard Hills. Her father, Owen, who had some of the Aldaran Gift himself, though mild, and saw to it that his sons who showed laran were Tower trained. Upon their return they took wives who also had laran, however minor.

Gradually they bred stronger laran into their line through nedestra offspring, and occasional inbreeding with harmful recessives monitored out early in the first trimester.

Owen's grand daughter Janara and her half-brothers were traveling to Ridenow to further the nedestra project when a space ship owned by Avril Davis crashed in the hills. A terranen smuggler, Avril Davis, was on the run and injured but possessed a bit of the psionic ability the Arsein's looked for. They brought him back to the Hold and hid his ship. Janara nursed him back to health and in the process the pair fell in love. Although Owen would have preferred a Ridenow offspring he made do and eventually allowed Janara to marry him rather than see her elope in the night.

Janara accompanied her husband frequently, but remained on Cottman IV to give birth, as she did frequently throughout their long marriage. Owen passed the hold to his eldest son, Lerrys, who continued the breeding project until his death, and family's enhancement with better weapons, techniques and metals Avril smuggled in upon his visits. Some of the younger Arseins began assisting Avril and developing into smugglers as well.

Owen's Great Grand children under Levar, Mirand, Esteban, Jacen and Dhaumen began to restructure the Domain, expanding offworld to establish new bases of operation, new sources of revenue and fresh bloodlines.

Nedestra Technicians trained in the Towers formed the basis of the Arsein Circles and quietly taught the Arsein children... Jeine Hastur y Arsein, then Dorylis, Esteban and Hjalmar joined her as underkeepers. Dorylis died shortly after her third child, at 24. The next generation produced Jacen, then Deveron, Danvan, Carolin and Ellaine as potential UnderKeepers, but the strength of the Arsein laran except in rare cases was dwindling and Danvan, Carolin and Ellaine could not accept the rigorous training necessary for a full Keeper.

Janara's daughter Doriann joined the Terranen Empire's space corps in order to extend the family's reach off world and spy on the Terranen. She gave birth to several Comyn nedestra during her tenure in the Trade City, to be raised by her family. Of these the greatest was Deveron, a Ridenows nedestra twinborn to Margali.

Deveron's laran gifts manifested in his first few months and several people died, including Jacen's wife. Unlike the other Arsein's, Deveron's laran was also extremely strong and he stayed at Neskaya Tower throughout full Keeper training. Much as he enjoyed that life, he knew that this was not his future. More and more of his family had gone into the off world smuggling operations, or the Federation, after contributing to the nedestra project, and so Deveron took leave of Neskaya and joined them.

The new worlds open to him were a shock. He attended a university long enough to marry and receive a graduate degree but the marriage failed miserably. A brief affair with Julia, a terranen official's aide, helped him overcome the worst of that pain before she disappeared from his life. He then devoted his time to training the young of the family, both on Darkover and off and living in seclusion, as much as anyone can in a telepathic environment.

Deveron's uncle Jacen, one of the Family Keepers, took Deveron out with him in an effort to break through Deveron's reserve and bring him back into the Family rapport but before he could do more than forge a bond of friendship they were mistaken for Jedi on a routine intelligence drop, and smoothly rescued by Tara Alderson.

Jacen quickly took an interest in Tara and with her assistance, maneuvered her family and his to accept not just a marriage but an alliance. The Alderson's very powerful but lethal Gifts were dying out with the Alderson young and his own Family were growing steadily weaker in strength without new sources of blood. A meeting between both sides resulted in several additional marriages and the Family began restructuring themselves into a vassal role under the Aldersons, granted lands and resources and new opportunities. Gradually their piracy operations were curtailed, and ceased altogether but their smuggling and intelligence operations were not. The Alderson-Arseins built a Tower off of the palace.

Deveron's niece Janin, one of their spies in the Resistance) was captured by the Federation in a trap operation led by Darana Cairnfell. She sent a message forcing the Family to meet with her and agree to her terms. Deveron was sent to make certain Darana kept them but soon found himself charmed by her, and proposed marriage.

For two years he was happy, but the Federation crackdown continued and after a period of political unrest that ended with Jarek Alderson's death and establishment of Federation troops on Shardakour, Doriann told them that it was only a matter of time until the Family would be discovered, engaged and destroyed. She suggested they return to Darkover to lie low, and those who were not agents within the Terranen did so or found reasons to travel off of Shardakour for the next few years while Jacen, Tara and Damien Alderson fought in the political arenas. Deveron was injured in the upheaval of the time and Terranen science could not heal him. He was sent to Darkover in stasis to be treated by matrix science. Upon recovering, Deveron was embroiled in the upheavals of Darkover and could not return to Darana for several years, but eventually did so.

Lately he has begun teaching Darana and her cadre, as he once taught the Family, and has begun to erect a new Tower...

    NATURE OF THE FAMILY

A person is invited to join the family after he or she has met and (without their knowledge) been approved by everyone, and may marry as few or as many as he or she wishes, but it is customary to marry the entire Family. Family members tend to group within the family, especially as children are born, but monogamy or anything approaching it does not exist. It is a group line marriage of likeminded indi viduals devoted to raising their children and providing for each other. Loyalty is strong. Children are nominally under jurisdiction of their parents, but more than likely are raised by everyone in a rambunc tious communal horde. The more empathic talented in the Family are generally assigned to the actual care of the children, but everyone takes part in raising and teaching them. Incest is not allowed and although kin call each other husband or wife, it goes no further and the oaths the children may take when joining the Family as an adult are different than the marriage oaths.

Occasionally foundlings or orphaned infants are brought into the Family for one reason or an other, and they are raised as any other child and go by the sole surname of Davis unless their name is known.

Because of the nature of the Family, there are a multitude of deities and forces they call upon, but in the end they rely on their skill and on Luck. Ysabet would tell them this is the Force, but excepting Deveron, they have never bothered learning more about this Force as they tend to be rather practical.

They are taught at birth to keep oaths and to think before leaping. They are totally loyal to each other and their own. They are taught to succeed and they will or pull back to try again at a better time.

They know that the Family will never knowingly sacrifice one of it’s own and that the Family will save them if it is in their power to do so, and the combined power of over a hundred fully trained psionicists linked is impressive, though individually they may be weak.

Their secret business is safe thus far because they protect each other and because their loyalty to each other is so high.

The Family has reached critical mass at this point. They possess enough ships of sufficient caliber to accomplish most any objective, and enough Family highly trained enough to support any operation, and enough to support them at range through psionics.

    PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE

The information on the members working in the business is pretty standard. Normal boring lives, interspersed with working the shipping side of the business when young, and moving into the planetside areas when they grow older or pregnant. They own a building, which houses their offices on the lower floors and family quarters above. Basically furnished crash space for the pilots, and permanent suites for the planetsiders. It was bought shortly after their arrival on Betawan VII, with cash and loans secured by various ships they owned, and was payed off ahead of time.

Levar Arsein does have a public record and Tara was told the family was led by Levar. Officially hes newly married to a very young blonde thing that giggles a lot after his first wife passed away a few years ago. Hes president of the family's official business, shipping. A stolid businessman. Never known for anything reckless, disobedient or hasty. But his business is on solid ground and employs basically the family, as clerks, agents, pilots, mechanics and so on. He inherited it from his father or uncle, who was an emigrant from (forged credentials, never could lose the Darkovan accent tho) and they currently include about 15 regular freighters and several huge cargo ships. No problems with taxes, has been audited and generally receives a small return when they do.

The Family on Shardakour reduced their pirating from weekly to monthly then eventually nothing at all, and turned their skills to building, rather than greed and lawlessness. They HAVE law now, which they did not before. Tara and Jarek and Damien taught them. It's quite a different group, although the elders (Doriann basically) have not adapted as far as the younger ones, but that again is why one has children. And Levar, Mirand and Dhaumen *have* come far. Piracy and banditry cuold not support them forever and Shardakour allowed them to restructure into fully legal operations.

part of their Circle's activities is to map the geologic resources of the System, and if a vein of ore is too expensive to mine normally, they work it to the surface, and assist with weather patterns like hurricanes and other natural disasters, train and assist the Alderson Gift children (with the Sith masters taking the larger role) and probably a lot of things I will think up later. Genetic engineering and specialty medical uses now and then. In Stormqueen they spoke of genetically engineered creatures. I dont see them creating pleasure slaves, but the techniques could be used for the genetic programs.

That sounds good. I had forgot about that aspect.....yes it works nicely...some of the other systems then that they hold in posession or contracts on could be sent out temporarily to that area to ease the cost of initial mining get it set up and then normal mining can take over.

No I do not seeing them genetically engineering/creating pleasure slaves either. That is too much of an impractical use for Tara to support although there may be those who might try something..:shrugs:...I can't imagine JAcen agreeing to it either. But definatley medical and related genetic program usage yes.

Aretta and Salvatore destroyed Tarma, a mercenary world with a military heirarchy and lifestyle... the world had basically no resources except the people so they went offworld as merc military units and thus supported their world that way. Most of them were killed either on Tarma, or within a few months as they heard and revolted against their Imperial contractors. Those few who did not would need a new home and either went into the Alliance or could have sometimes resettled on Shardakour into the general population. Not planning to play them, although Kiera Martial (My rebel Ground Forces Colonel) is one of these, but just possible background.

Hmm Tara/Jarek would have then offered these folks a place....definatley with the caveat of vassalage though. Somehow I missed that and was also not secure enough with Tara as a character back then....hmmm I don't remember when it occurred timelinewise....but I do recall SAlvatore destroying Tarma. Hmmm....Depends upon how many people would come and population increase...areas they are looking at now include preserving balance of power, preserving their way of life, the genetic program, but also popoulation balance on the core worlds....especially Shardakour Prime and the main planets in the Shardakour system. So the folks may have been given settlement on one of the other system worlds. AGain it depends upon how many people.

Corporate Sector Authority has a Sector hub on Cottman IV.

Somewhere near the Eastern Rim Sectors, there are pirates using Imperial vessels to raid civilian shipping. Imperial shipments of all kinds in the area go missing occasionally.

Those responsible have access to unauthorized information (shipping schedules and ship mani fests). Ships IDs are fake and there are no survivors of their raids to identify them.

There are rumors that one pirate group in that area has been cleaning out the competition.

Deveron has a bounty on his head as a suspected Jedi. It has never been collected.

Davis Freight Lines is a prosperous shipping firm and it’s owner relies heavily on his influence with Sector officials. He has never been involved in any major rules breaking, only the most minor of infractions.

Various family members under various names have extremely good reputations as smugglers.

Although the Empire is unaware of this, one of their informants is from the Family, keeping the Empire up to date on competitor smugglers or pirates and other undesirables.

    DAVIS FAMILY HISTORY

The Davis Family is an extended clan family/group marriage with a history of not very strong psionic ability. Sixty years ago, Avril Davis’ ship, the Sabaac Queen, was forced to land on an uncharted planet to make repairs.

He was found by Janara Arsein who took him to her family’s holding but the Arseins [bandits by trade] had came under attack and were all but wiped out. Janara married him and Avril took her remaining three teenaged brothers with him when he left.

After several months of smuggling and psionic use they had acquired enough capital and made planetfall on a small Rim world known as Betawa VII in the Tion Sector. With Avril’s contacts and their psionics they set up a legitimate shipping cartel, Davis Freight Lines, as a front for their expanded smuggling activities. Over the years the dual businesses thrived and the Family expanded to match as they had children and found like minded individuals to bring into the Family.

All are in the business in one way or another, and all are cheerfully amoral, adhering to a private code and the Davis motto ("What they don’t know won’t hurt us").

Those born into the Family enter the business by accompanying and observing as children. Once a pilot’s license is won, they accompany the clan raiders and smugglers while increasing their skills. The best take part in smuggling ventures as well. Everyone handles the legitimate cargo ships on a rotation schedule and it is considered soft duty. Older members retired from space going be come front people for Davis Freight Lines.

All this changed after the Family leaders met with Tara Alderson, at the behest of Jacen Arsein. Levar and Mirand had been seeking a way to legitimize the Family and Tara offered this, in addition to potential new bloodlines. The Family moved operations to Shardakour and began engaging less in piracy and more legally, as legitimate freespacers and cargo carriers. Several Davis-Alderson offspring were born, and a new Tower was set up, their services used to benefit the Alderson Worlds in exploration, mining, and anti-pirate operations.

    PIRACY AND SMUGGLING

The Family has an extensive and specialized net of informants and snitches who give them information on the Empire and it’s fleets and garrisons, civilian shipping schedules, and other pirates and raiders who may be a threat to them.

Mirand assigns enough ships and Family to ensure operations are successful. Cargo is taken to Firestorm and relabeled, then it is shipped out as their own merchandise from one of their appro priate front companies aboard one of their regular merchant vessels. Items bound for their personal use is shipped to the appropriate base with the next Family ship. Some cargo is earmarked for the Rebellion and this is loaded into blasted unidentifiable cargo hulks and piggybacked to the vicinity of a rebel base, as determined by an Argus Station. The shell is dropped off with a transponder for the rebels to find.

This is their only tie to the Alliance, and that because the Empire and the local systems would take too much interest in piracy and other illegal activities were they not distracted by the conflict. Levar and the others DO want the Rebellion to succeed, on principal’s sake, but will not ally with them. It would be too dangerous, would expose the Family, and once the Alliance has won, they will be just as interested in hunting down pirates and smugglers as the Empire.

Knowing that, the Family would have a hard time trusting in rebel promises, particularly when the rebels in charge have learned that it is necessary to sacrifice some to save others. This is totally opposed to the way of the Family.

Sometimes when they learn of Imperial plans to attack rebels, Mirand will authorize missions to destroy and capture the lmperials beforehand and it is in this manner that their fleet tends to improve in ship numbers and firepower.

If it is not possible to profit by the encounter, Mirand will ensure the rebels are warned and that no Family are in the area.

Occasionally when on a pirate venture they will encounter a greater than expected force and the strike commander must decide to stay or run depending on the situation. It is in this way the Empire has at least some information on their piracy.

Levar has been patriarch for 17 years and his business acumen has led the Family into solid financial security. He is by nature a statistician at heart and looks it. He deals with the regional officials and has taken great pains to appear as a bustling balding businessman. He has a reputation among them of being always willing to ‘help out a friend’ in return for favors. They are amused by him and use him shamelessly because his infrac tions are so minor that only someone as totally law abiding as he seems would ever bother considering his indiscretions illegal. He respects all Imperial officers highly because as he will confide to them, he always wanted to be a space pilot but his heart condition... He tries to sound like ‘one of the boys’. Whenever an Imp needs a little extra cash, they know where to go.

In public, Bettina Arsein-Davis, an apparently vacuum headed, stacked, bleach blonde twenty years his junior and barely out of school, plays his wife. She has a genius level intellect and a photographic memory.

Mirand is First-Wife, the matriarch. She is a clearinghouse and an incredibly com petent organizer. She is usually found at Selenion. She knows everyone’s readiness, skills and location and assigns runs based on this knowledge. When anyone in the Family needs anything done, however large or small, personal or professional, they call Mirand and it is taken care of immediately. Mirand has a will of iron and a prodigious memory.

Margali is Janara’s grandaughter and traveled the spacelanes gathering information on rival smugglers when she ran into Davin Firestorm in a scummy cantina on Dreyfuss IV. He seemed to fit right in and by what she came to consider native talent for trouble, his only talent, almost managed to get her arrested for drunken and disorderly conduct. She took leave of him as the bar erupted in a firefight and hoped that was the last of him. She was not so lucky. Their path seemed to cross regularly and they traded insults at every opportunity. Eventually the two had settled into a routine, arguing over anything and everything, but there seemed to be no question that he would travel with anyone else.

Eventually Davin found himself on Margali’s homeworld in a room full of her kin, and as he liked them and they liked him, he married into the Family, everyone except Margali. After two years when Margali was about to deliver her first set of twins by him, he married her too, at blaster point with a little help from the Family, and has been a loving and devoted husband ever since, when not somewhere else.

Deveron is Margali’s elder twin and a rarity in the Family. He is extremely power ful and can see beyond the confines of the Family, although he has no interest in escaping them. He is interested in the people’s of the galaxy and is a man of culture. He has a Doctorate in Xenosociology and degrees in Galactic History and Religions. He is a loner by choice now and this is partially due to his first wife, Anna. He was very young and in love when he met her and was scarred when the non-Family marriage ended in a bitter di vorce. He has no children and has never brought anyone into the Family, and excepting Anna, has never married outside the Family. He has grown wiser as he grew older and has no bitterness left over their parting.

He travels extensively, picking up information from across the galaxy and teaches the children to use their psionics when he is home. Excepting when he has an apprentice, he is the only family member who regularly travels alone.

    World Notes:

-- Character played in the Star Wars roleplay group, Cantina Roleplayers Guild .

FoE (Forces of the Empire) is a Star Wars role-playing group set in the ROTJ era more or less. The Emperor survived the Death Star II as did Vader who lapsed back to the Dark Side. The Alliance now controls a swathe of territory and the galactic civil war continues.

The club was begun way way back before the pre-quels and the two Sith rule but otherwise has incorporated much of these additional movies.
