Game History Born among the Kelvallyn on a remote moon orbitting a gas giant, Lil was the daughter and 7th child of a woodscrafter. Lil never took to the narrow-minded dogma's her people subscribed to, and at her earliest opportunity left home. Anywhere was better than continuing in that hellhole and her rage sustained her as well as her woodscraft skills, out of the isolated valley they chose to live in and to the south until she saw no traces of Espruar or Kelvallyn anywhere. She disdained to use the traditional weapons of the Kelvallyn and supported herself in the city through schooling with a retired weaponsmaster however she could. At the end of her time there he supplied her name as a guard for a merchant's shipments and for several years Lil worked as guard, bouncer, and freelander throughout that section of the Rim. With no goal in mind she lived for the present, and the desire to someday see her people wiped out. However unlikely that might be it made her feel good and she savored the sweet daydream often. Lil made few friendships, none she would ever admit to anyway, but there were a rare few she willingly spent time with. One of these was Hunder Logan, a thief and mountain of a human, just as willing to try the odds as she was. Together the two got into several scams and jams, and laughed their way out of them until one night Hunder failed to meet her at their rendezvous point. Alarmed, Lil lay low in the city's dregs for a few days listening to what information came her way and learned that Hunder had been caught, sentenced and shipped to a penal colony. Saddened, Lil took their loot and went her own way. Life had lost its luster, and she began to take longer term contracts in positions of authority over others, not a hired goon anymore. Or at least the head goon this time. Through her employers she transferred to positions in their allies, bouncing around here then there, sometimes training recruits sometimes leading them, until she'd gone as high as a mercenary could in their armies. By now Lil was intimately familiar with the nature of the Enemy they fought, and when she was offered a commission she turned it down feeling a vestige of her old freewheeling ways, but continued to serve their forces as an advisor and field commander. The Enemy bided his time and when he struck, managed to wipe out almost the entire command staff of the allies as his agent among them went mad and turned his guns on his friends and co-workers. The Enemy began his offensive, timed to strike when the Allies were leaderless. The betrayal by one Lil had thought she trusted hit hard, and she took command with revenge on her mind. The combat was bloody and horrific, with no quarter on either side. Lil's forces managed to break the Enemy's defenses and pave the way for a team to go in and destroy him personally. Lil took it, and engaged The Enemy, she nearly died from her wounds but the Enemy did die from his, and she slid into unconsciousness with a bloody smile upon her face. The Enemy's troops were rounded up and incarcerated, The Enemy's body incinerated. Lil went into bacta and emerged a hero. THE Hero. Realizing that the old families had been wiped out by the long war and treachery of the Enemy, she bowed to the few who remained and took charge of Ravenot by right of arms.

With no goal in mind she lived for the present, and the desire to someday see her people wiped out however unlikely that might be it made her feel good and she savored the sweet daydream often.
One night, she and her travelling companions were betrayed. She'd developed an almost sort of maybe possibly could be the start of a friendship with one of her companions and when his enemies attacked the hostel they were staying at Lil could not help him. While their comrades fled to safety she climbed the roof and watched to see if she could help him, but he was taken away and she never saw him again.
World Notes:
-- Character played in the Star Wars roleplay group, Cantina Roleplayers Guild .
FoE (Forces of the Empire) is a Star Wars role-playing group set in the ROTJ era more or less.
The Emperor survived the Death Star II as did Vader who lapsed back to the Dark Side. The
Alliance now controls a swathe of territory and the galactic civil war continues.
The club was begun way way back before the pre-quels and the two Sith rule but otherwise
has incorporated much of these additional movies.
Lil began life as my second ever D&D character. I had the First Edition D&D book, Players Guide and Dungeon Masters Guide but no world, so I made up one and ran myself. This was Crossroads. It featured a world with dozens of kingdoms, small and large, and a thousand year history (in case I sent my characters back in time). Magic was abundant there and highly stylized, and the world was called Crossroads because it contained many places that were dimensional rifts.
Eventually I joined a gaming group where I now live, and brought Lil in as my 'Can she roleplay?' 'Dunno lets invite her over for a session and see before we make a decision.' character. Considering how unelf Lil is, Im surprised that they accepted me, but I played Lil with them for several months through Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft, then other characters but I always had a soft spot for Lil.
When Forces of the Empire needed a mob of characters for the Empress Cruise plotline, I dusted off Lil and added her to the list as an NPC and she was accepted. The changes that were made to allow her to exist in a sci-fi world weren't too difficult, the hard part was in Lil growing up enough to become a leader of men.
I didn't want to play a treehugging pastel wearing flower garlanded elf when I made Lil. Actually I simply rolled it and she came out the total opposite of the treehugger without help from me. Lil has the Elvish 90% resistance to some magics, and the typical saving throw. Its almost impossible to Charm an Elf or put one to sleep, but Lil goes out like a light every time. But, she cant be hit. One of my favorite sessions was when we first entered Ravenloft and the DM ran a capture scenario. A mob of rats or kobolds, some kind of short creature that swarms up and surrounds you so you always have several able to get a backstab off. And soon enough everyone else was down for the count. She bandaged them and fought on. And on. And on. And on. And on. Several hours later I had only a few of the buggers left, and John pulls three werewolves with charm ability out of thin air, Boom, next thing you know Lil is out like a light. Noone ever believes me when I say that Lil never makes that roll. Dunno why not...
One of her first traveling companions was a barbarian played by Kim. A big lout who never bathed, and everything we killed unless we buried it or burnt it first, became jerky in his hands. Not bad actually, she liked him and they got along. He didnt try to change her and except for the bathing thing, she didnt try to change him. He had this amulet he was trying to return and the DM didnt want him to so we were always getting sidetracked. One time this barbarian and Lil exploring a ruined temple together fell down a chute into the basement. The barbarian picked up a glowing black metal mace, and as we all knew had to be, was possessed by the soul of the evil cleric who had ruled there. And then naturally, he tried to kill her. This mass of muscle four times her mass and huge, couldnt touch her. She didnt have much of a weapon at that time, but nickel and dimed the barbarian into unsconscious, and this was the old style Barbarian with a million hit points.
Another time we played out a module from a magazine, "Wrestle the Troll". This was awesome. All the men in the group just HAD to wrestle the troll. Even our female thief tried it. Meanwhile there was some sideplot about dwarves and halflings in disguise, but the barbarian rechallenged the troll and should have won, actually, but didnt and got mad as barbarians do. He started a fight, and Lil ducked behind the counter for safety. It happened she'd paid attention to where the betting money had gone to, and so she helped herself, then as the whole place exploded into a brawl, ran for the door. Our thief had just gotten a horn of jumping and started blowing the thing constantly. So of course Lil fails her saves and is hopping around. She managed to make a save long enough to get out the door and partway down the street but it was a real riot. Had so much fun laughing our heads off, Kim and me.
The group we had was superb. Kim's barbarian, Gabe's Cavalier, Heather's thief. The Cavalier was one of the old style ones, son of a Lord, and god on a horse. Heather's thing was thieves and she really played them well. We got ambushed by a bunch of hobolds, like 30 of them. Which was not much of a problem really. Except they had 6 kobold archers up in the trees plonking us with arrows. We werent in much danger of dying, but eventually the arrows would have added up. So we clean up most of the landbased kobolds and the cavalier is trying to give us orders, and the barbarian is contesting his right to do so (we didnt have a party leader, we just sort of did our individual thing and it worked) and so these two stop fighting the kobolds and get into a fight over whos going to lead the party. !!! Heather and I, Lil and the thief, started yelling at the two IC and between us took out the rest of the kobolds while those two duked it out. As if we were going to follow either one of them after they staged their power struggle in the middle of an ambush. Men... but it was great fun to rp. :-)
Another of Kim's characters was the one taken from the inn. I dont recall why exactly, but there were a dozen spectres riding nightmares, and they only wanted him. Had no weapons to affect them, couldnt help him. She feels bad about that, even if he was an elf.
Lil and Hunder did appear briefly in Alt.Dragons-Inn, in the [Tower Guards] thread long enough to steal the payroll.
Oh yes, the art was done by Kim D. Davis in 1991. He hooked me up with his group, and drew pictures during games of all of our characters. Still does actually.
