Prelude Birth: - Death: - Notable Achievements: Orc-hood, outwitting the GMS capture scenario by knowing Nicole's spells and Charming a Guard (who turned out not to be a guard, but long story). Education: - |
Game History Nicole began life in an AD&D game, accompanying a small band through the countryside, sent on a mission I forget, to a castle. The lord of the castle was some kind of local tyrant and took offense at their mission and sent his people to capture them. Nicole and the others were captured unfortunately, and stripped of their armor, weapons and gear. The Lord's priests (an evil unknown god) thought her Selune holy symbol hilarious however, and left it with her, then chained them all standing against a dungeon wall of a room together. Over the night Nicole prayed and slept and Selune granted her her spells for the day.... Charm Person. The only spell of hers that required no components other than her holy symbol, and her voice. When the jailor came Nicole was ready. She Charmed him, then he came further into the room and she learned twas not the jailor, but a very powerful wizard. He took them out of the castle via a secret passage to a hidden citadel of his own, and sent them into a very odd structure full of magic. There were keys, but to use a key destroyed it and the special doors would reclose after a few minutes no matter what you did. The place included a room that with the door closed, formed a wind tunnel vortex. When the door reopened the winds would slam the person inside the room against the walls killing them. The arab in the group was the first to find this particular trap, and died of it, then to their surprise, returned to life as a troll. (The resurrection charts) They managed to clean out most of the denizens, including a hall of scorpions (trolls are not affected by poison very well). Nicole was caught in that room and she too died, and returned as a troll also. Unable to tolerate living as a hideous troll Nicole went back into the room, and again died. She returned as an orc. A male orc. The wizard while they slept took her out of the trap and into his laboratory. There he sat her down and spoke with her. The little group had been manipulated all along by him to draw them there, to make them more powerful than they were as humans, and better able, he hoped, to survive a great challenge he had been working against. The trap citadel was a crucible, to recreate them and train them to use their new abilities. Unfortunately Nicole could not continue to die in search of her self and an orc was too weak. He did not have the ability to return her to her human self but could not return her to die either. Andso he took her on as his apprentice and lab assistant until the day that he could do this for her. |
World Notes:
-- Character played in the Star Wars roleplay group, Cantina Roleplayers Guild .
FoE (Forces of the Empire) is a Star Wars role-playing group set in the ROTJ era more or less.
The Emperor survived the Death Star II as did Vader who lapsed back to the Dark Side. The
Alliance now controls a swathe of territory and the galactic civil war continues.
The club was begun way way back before the pre-quels and the two Sith rule but otherwise
has incorporated much of these additional movies.
The game session where Nicole was introduced was run by Gerald, the uncle of our usual DM. He ran games at Cons and wanted to test his scenario out on us. Gerald and I always got along really well in the sessions he ran. I usually ended up having something horrible happen but it was exciting and interesting and I always got into the games. Lady Erain Jainik was played in one of his sessions as well.
I dont actually remember much of the game, I wish I did. I remember an evil tyrant, his dungeon, the Charming, the trap room and scorpions and I remember that, as usually happened when Gerald ran things, it ended up with he and I sitting alone roleplaying out the consequences of my poor character's actions. In this case, the wizard and Nicole in his lab, talking for hours real time. Gerald was and is a really great DM, unorthodox but interesting. I miss him.
