Playing A Round

Caption #600

Rowan spent hours playing golf. Literally his whole world outside of work revolved around the game. His wife was fed up with being ignored and decided she'd take up the game herself. In a short time Kirsty became very good and was winning club championships and the like. His mates began to rib Rowan that his wife might be better than him. Rowan didn't mind Kirsty playing golf but he stopped short of acknowledging that women could be as good as men at the game. Rowan was too much of chauvenist for such admissions.

"Women should play the game in tiny skirts and high-heels. Thats the only way their game would be worth watching." Rowan spouted in the clubhouse one afternoon.

He didn't realise Kirsty and a couple of other female players were near enough to hear him. Their anger was palpable upon hearing his words. Their discussion revolved around how to bring Rowan and his big ego down. Kirsty was all for anything to show her husband he was an obnoxious oath. The idea of a challenge match between Kirsty and Rowan grew amongst the women. Kirsty wasn't sure she could beat her husband but it might be worth the effort even if she lost.

A while later and with a couple of drinks in her Kirsty and her friends cornered her husband and his mates and issued the challenge. They were sick of the men at the club thinking they were better for no good reason. Rowan was a bit taken aback, but not too much.

"Ok darling, but if you think your so good then we should be playing off the same tee!" Rowan said triumphantly.

"Yeah, sure, whatever," a slightly rattled Kirsty replied.

Kirsty hadn't seen that obvious condition coming and it was hard to argue.

"So what are we playing for then sweetie pie?" Rowan asked.

"Other than bragging rights, you mean?" Kirsty answered.

"Yeah, exactly." Rowan answered.

"Well, if I beat you, and I hope I thrash you darling. You have to not play any golf. Instead you'll be my caddy for a year, anytime I want!" Kirsty said.

Kirtsy gave herself a mental pat on the back for thinking of such a great idea. Rowan would be reduced to a bag handler for his wife, as she and her friends played round after round. His mates would sure have a laugh at his expense she figured. The other women were equally impressed at Kirtsy's idea.

"Deal my sweet." Rowan agreed after a few moments contemplation.

Rowan was impressed with his wife's marker for the game. He wasn't ever worried about losing but he had to admit that if he did that was a smart idea. Now he had to top it as she asked him what his winning request would be.

"Ok honey, when I win you'll still be able to play when you want. Instead though you have to wear a tiny skirt, stockings, suspenders and high heels for every round you caddy for me, for a whole year!" Rowan announced proudly.

"Deal my dear!" Kirsty agreed.

She agreed, although she didn't like the idea of becomming an eye-candy caddy for her husband and his mates. She could still play though, even if she did have to stand by her man in a ridiculous getup while he enjoyed his damn golf. The game was set for the following Saturday and word got around about the battle of the sexes match.

After a week of good natured banter the day arrived. On the first tee Rowan questioned his wife as to why she wasn't playing in her new 'uniform' seeing as she wasn't going to win the match. Kirsty didn't appreciate that and got a little steamed. Her terrible tee shot cost her the first hole and Rowan found the odd jibe seemed to give him the advantage, although Kirsty who was five down at the turn, staged a comeback. As the day wore on the weather began to close in a bit and ominous clouds boiled overhead. On the ground Kirsty boiled also. By the time they reached the final hole Rowan was hanging on to a slim lead. He was one up and Kirsty needed to win the hole to keep the game alive. Her tee shot was magnificent and landed a foot from the hole on the picturesque par three eighteenth. Rowan stepped to the tee and with a crowd of about twenty-five friends watching eagerly, he let go his tee shot.

To say the crowd was stunned to see Rowan's hole-in-one was an understatement. To say Kirtsy was fuming was also an understatement. As she stood non-plussed on the tee Rowan went to her and wrapt a caring arm around his slumping wife's shoulder.

When he raised his six iron in the air and let out a massive victory whoop the final nail was put in Kirsty's challenge. Of course the lightning strike that snaked from the sky and connected with Rowan's raised club, caught everyone by surprise!

Rowan went and fetched Kirsty's clubs for another humiliating round of golf, as HER caddy! He was already thoroughly fed up with the demeaning outfit he was forced to wear every time she accepted another round with his old mates. The bag was so heavy to carry and his attire didn't help matters. Today was windy and he knew he'd be in for four hours of holding his skirt down while lugging Kirsty's bag.

When they had come too from the concussion of the lightning strike Kirsty was stunned to find she was in Rowan's body. Rowan of course was equally surprised and began trying to tell people he was Rowan and he was in Kirtsy's body! When he heard a groggy Kirsty say his wife would say anything to get out of the bet, he was speechless. The laughter of those around them sent Rowan into a spin of panic.

Of course lots of other things have changed for the couple. Kirsty has really taken off with her golf and plays so well there is talk of a possible professional career. Rowan hopes it won't happen before the year is out. He dosen't play much himself, he found it too difficult to swing in his new body. The other thing he does find difficult is allowing his new husband to find that special bedroom hole-in-one!
