Scotched
Part 2 - Trying to Cope
Caption #614
Ted was still a girl and they needed cash to change him back. Rowan tried to help his mate but there was nothing for it but to save enough money to buy his gender back.
Rowan and Ted left the bar and headed home. As they passed the supermarket Ted asked if Rowan could stop there, as he wanted to pick up a few things. Rowan and Ted headed inside and Ted began plucking grocery items and filling a trolley. Before long he had done a decent shop and they headed for the checkout. Normally the guys would just stop and pick up bits and pieces to keep them going but this was a full shop. The trolley contained fresh vegetables, meat, cooking ingredients, laundry items and with a tinge of embarrassment a few feminine hygiene products, along with upmarket shampoo and conditioner. It cost most of the cash Ted had left for the week but he was adamant everything was needed.
At home Rowan carried in the shopping bags and unpacked everything. Ted said that maybe Rowan should lay down for a while as he had to work tonight and Sunday was always a late night at the restaurant and he had classes in the morning. Rowan normally slept late Sundays so he would be awake for work but the day had been so strange, and he was feeling the effects. Ted's advice made sense and Rowan went to his room for a nap. Ted said he'd wake his mate when it was time for him to get ready for work.
Rowan heard a soft female voice at his bedroom door calling his name. He realised in his stupor it was Ted who told him that when he'd had his shower there was a meal waiting for him. Rowan showered, shaved and got dressed before heading out to the living room.
He found Ted sitting on the couch wearing a pair of blue jeans and one of the tops he'd bought him the day before. His hair was pulled back and he was filing his nails!
Ted smiled warmly at his mate and asked him if he was hungry. Rowan said he was and followed Ted's swaying backside into the kitchen, where the table was set properly and the smell of dinner filled the air. Ted told Rowan to sit as he went about dishing a hot dinner.
Rowan was amazed but also delighted when he realised the meal was delicious. Ted sat and ate with him and they discussed how quickly they could get the cash together for the formula. Rowan wasn't happy about Ted working at the Dirt Bar but it did serve a purpose as there was probably no way they could get the money on one wage. Ted told his mate not to worry as he knew all about the place, and what type of character frequented it, and it wasn't like he had no idea what to expect. Besides, it was more than obvious he needed an identity quickly, if he was going to function in public as a girl. Rowan asked what he was going to call himself and Ted figured the name Tabitha that he had used on their night out would do as well as any and they tossed up on surnames before Green was chosen. That was Ted's mothers maiden name.
Rowan suggested as Ted wouldn't be able to work as himself at the restaurant until he changed back that he would tell the boss Ted had been called back home for a family emergency. Also he could he could suggest Tabitha his friend could fill in for him. Rowan was sure his boss would go for it and Ted would have his identity by the next weekend. Ted thought that was a good plan as he dished up dessert.
Not long later Rowan was bidding his mate goodbye as headed to the restaurant. Ted stood in the doorway and waved to him as he backed out of the drive. Ted made himself a coffee and watched a bit of TV. It wasn't long before he was washing the dinner dishes and tidying the kitchen. Almost instinctively Ted found himself cleaning up the living room which was generally a bit messy. He also went and tidied Rowan's room up. He knew this was not like him but he also knew he wasn't himself. Every now and again he'd catch himself doing these things and wonder where it would end.
As it got late Ted decided he best get some sleep. He knew it would be quite some time before Rowan got home and while he felt the need to wait up for him, he was simply too tired. He poured himself a glass of white wine, put on one his now oversized t-shirts, slipped into bed and began reading a book. Not normally a reader except for school Ted found himself reading for pleasure as he sipped his wine. About midnight he drifted off to sleep. He didn't hear Rowan arrive home about an hour later.
Rowan woke to his alarm reminding him it was time to get up and get organised for school. He had had a long busy night at work which was compounded by his worrying about Ted. One good thing was his boss had agreed to allow Tabitha to fill in while Ted was away. Rowan didn't bother waking Ted last night to tell him. He popped his head in last night to his room but he was sound asleep, a book resting in his lap. Rowan had placed the book on the bedside table and turned out the lamp by Ted's bed.
Rowan was heading to the shower when he heard a female voice from the kitchen. It was Ted calling out that he was cooking some breakfast. Rowan called back thanks and hit the bathroom. All through his shower Rowan found himself thinking of Ted and how his new body made him feel. He was a little ashamed after he jerked off under the hot water to the mental images of Ted.
Rowan was surprised to again be offered a cooked breakfast. He was more surprised to see Ted ironing, in pants and a bra! Rowan tried to concentrate on eating but his eyes were drawn frequently to his mates breasts, which were nestled in the simple white bra he'd bought for him yesterday. He was ironing a blouse and when he was finished Ted slipped it on and buttoned it up. He looked great even in this simple outfit, although his pants were a bit odd looking. He had shortened the legs though at some stage to fit his new height. Rowan told Ted the job as Tabitha was a goer and he made one last plea to Ted not to accept anything dodgy from Keith at the Dirt Club. Ted reassured him and reminded Rowan he better get moving if he wanted to be on time for his first class.
Rowan felt good having started the day with a hot meal and thanked Ted profusely for cooking all these meals. Having clean ironed clothes was also a bonus and Rowan joked he enjoyed the side benefits of the change. Ted giggled in thanks and even blushed a little. Rowan was heading out the door when he heard Ted call out that he had forgotten his car keys. Rowan turned and found Ted standing there with his keys. What happened next caught both of them by surprise.
As Rowan took the keys from Ted he leaned down and kissed Ted on the cheek in thanks! Both of them reacted with a reflex jump, lots of blushing and an embarrassed sorry from Rowan. In fact he almost ran to the car and roared off down the street. Ted stood where he was, a little confused by the whole scene. What worried him was that it actually seemed a natural event, if he was really a girl, that is.
Ted took a while to regain his composure. Soon enough it was time to head down to the Dirt Bar for his first day of work. As he drove he hoped this whole situation could be sorted out soon, because if it wasn't, things could get out of hand.
