Synchronised Wishing
Part 1 - Robby's Wish
Caption #630
Robby Weadon was a bit of a dreamer who believed in all things mystical. When the carnival was in town, he couldn't resist a visit to the gypsy woman who had a tent as part of the travelling troupe.
Robby waited for a quiet night at the fair to have a look around. Robby was a very small kid for his age. At fifteen he was just over five feet tall and he wasn't looking like springing up any time soon. In fact his parents had taken him to a couple of specialists in the field of growth and it seemed Robby was destined to be a short person. Even though he was in his first semester of high school he already had the school wide nickname of Jockey. It wasn't anything malicious and he was even considering riding as an occupation due to his build. Still though Robby did dream of being a guy with a decent body. He often would look for shooting stars to wish for a bigger physique and the last couple birthday wishes he'd made were similar.
As he wandered the fair grounds Robby ran into Roger Dalton a senior from his school and his girlfriend Serena Watson. Roger was a star footballer and Serena had arguably the hottest body at school. They were both seniors and Robby envied Roger, he had the kind of physique Robby craved. Serena said a nice hello to Robby, as they passed he heard Roger make an unflattering comment about munchkins. Robby certainly didn't get much taunting about his lack of height but if there was one person who highlighted it, it was Roger. The guy had quite a nasty demeanour and that included his treatment of Serena. She was nice and Robby wondered, like a lot of others at school why she put up with him.
Robby soon came across Madame Olga's tent and looking around to see if anyone he knew was in view. He slipped inside the dimly lit tent. An old woman sipping a cup of something hot came out of the shadows and greeted him with a boney hand. She sure was old looking Robby thought.
"Greetings young man, how can I be of assistance?" the woman asked.
"Um, well, um," Robby stammered, he suddenly realised he wasn't sure what he actually wanted.
"Well then let me read your future and grant you a free wish as well dear."
"Ok, sure. How much," Robby asked?
"Midweek special Robby, only twenty dollars."
"Ok, here's twenty." Robby handed over his cash not even realising he hadn't told the woman his name.
The fortune teller used a crystal ball that went from clear to clouded. Robby was impressed with whatever device did that. He might have been into all things mystical but he didn't believe in much of it. The old woman spoke after a minute saying domestic bliss awaited her customer. And that he would want for nothing. She talked about many children in Robby's future. It all seemed a bit ordinary to Robby who was finding it hard to take her seriously. The woman then asked Robby to make his wish, to himself. With that Robby wished he had the hottest body in school.
"When the bell chimes tomorrow Robby your wish will come true," the old woman added as she arose and went back to her drink.
"Ah ok, thank you." Robby said.
He was out of the tent and thinking that that was the worst twenty bucks he'd ever spent. It would be alright if she could grant real wishes he thought to himself as he looked around some of the other carnival attractions. An hour later he was home and in bed.
Robby dragged himself to school the next day a little more tired than usual, he felt a little strange as well. He got his books for first period maths and took a seat in class. He was scanning the chapter he would be studying today and he only just remembered his so called wish should come true when the bell rang. Then the bell actually rang.
Robby heard the bell but it sounded distant and vague. He couldn't focus and his vision was blurred, then he passed out. He had a weird dream before slowly coming too. When he did he was in a different classroom, worse he was in a different body! It took a nano-second to realise he now had the hottest body at school. It was the body of Serena Watson! What had he done?
