Biography

William Herbert McCollin 1867-1937

William Herbert McCollin was described as a greengrocer of 111 St Paul's Street, Hull, in the Census of 1881. He was still at this address in 1885. In the 1891 Census William was living with his new wife, Jennie, at 10 Ebenezer Terrace and making a living as a 'confectioner' (?). In the 1901 Census William was working on his own account as a grocer at 50 Dock Street, Hull. His (second?) wife, Marion (aged 29), was nullworking at home. They had William's sister, Rose E., living with them and she was described as a domestic servant. (In 1892 William was recorded at 55 Peel Street (check needed)). In 1903 he was at 50 Dock Street and at No. 52 Dock Street in 1906. His address when he died was given as 8 W. Parade Hill, Hull.
