Timothy Dawson Langbene Ferguson was born in 16th November, 1963, in Canberra. He grew up there, and completed high school but did not go to university. He went to the military college in Duntroon where he spent two years in the Army. Some say he attained the rank of Captain. Tim married quite young. He was 23 when he met his lovely wife, Victoria, an Allstars fan herself. After just six weeks together, they married in the city of love, Paris. While the Allstars were still together, Tim and Victoria had two children. When the Allstars split, they had one more child. After the Allstars went their separate ways, Tim was approached by the ABC to star in a new show, Funky Squad. He starred as Grant, and he had to wear a platinum blonde wig and 70s' style clothes. After Funky Squad finished, Ch Nine picked Tim up to do Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, which I remember as Tim wearing very loud suits and Miss Wendy on rollerskates. Tim was the only thing to stop me from kicking the TV in when I saw Miss Wendy. Don't Forget your Toothbrush was pretty successful, even winning a Logie, but Ch Nine cancelled it in its second season, and Tim faded into temporary obscurity, doing horrendous pilots such as Little Aussie Battlers and doing Queensland Keno commercials. Tim slowly fought his way back into the spotlight by first doing Nintendo 64 commercials, then by writing a book called Left, Right and Centre. Eventually, in 1998, he scored the role of transvestite Frank N Furter in an Australia-wide tour of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. He then appeared in several Ch Nine Super Debates, and finally, Tim was picked up by Ch 10 to do a show called Unreal TV, which is going through its last season in 2001. He will release a new book, Madhouse, which focuses on the gambling industry. Tim is currently enjoying succes with his Foxtel TV show, Shock Jock, about a DJ named Barry Gold who is recruited to prop up an ailing AM radio station, CHAT AM. The only way he can do this is to be controversial. Shock Jock is on Sunday nights, 8.00, on TV1. Watch for Tim as eye-in-the-sky reporter Vox. Facts: His dad was a journalist, specialising in war correspondence. Tim can speak four languages and he is also a black belt in tae kwon do. He also loves the book/film To Kill A Mockingbird so much that his production company is named Mocking Bird Productions, and his daughter is named Scout, after the little girl in the book. He has been known to go my the alias Atticus Finch. Tim also owns a farm in rural Victoria and is a huge Star Wars fan, plus he loves horses. Is it any wonder that he named his latest equine acquisition Anakin? |
