Sugar Cookies

1 1.2 Cups Powdered Sugar
1 Cup Softened Butter
1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon Almond Extract
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar

Mix powdered sugar, butter, egg and flovorings.  Add dry ingredients.  Divide dough in half.  Cover, and refrigerate at least two hours.  Roll each half about 1/4 inches thick on lightly floured surface.  Cut into shapes.  Bake at 375 F degrees for 7 - 8 minutes until edges are lightly browned.  Sprinke with sugar or decorate with your favorite icing.
