According to an old issue of The Weekly World News, due to the logarithmic increase in world population, one-sixteenth of the world's total, cumulative population - that is to say, one-sixteenth of everyone who has ever lived - is alive now. Therefore, for every man, woman & child above the ground, only fifteen are below it. Now, I don't know how they managed to arrive at this conclusion, and I don't care to. All that matters is that they published something which my pal, Liquid and I found amusingly epiphanous. Well, we decided that the best thing to do would be to claim our dead folk so that... ummm... OK, I don't remember why, but it seemed really important at the time. At any rate, I asked a bunch of my friends to write out lists of their own fifteen dead guys. The only problem was that most of my friends are enough like me (that is to say they're all the type who cheat at board games) that we knew we'd have to come with some sort of control parameter, so perfect & pure in its simplicity that it immediately commanded a respect not normally afforded either Liquid or myself. On our first, and only, attempt, we arrived at what has become a catch phrase for many of the list's contributors: "First dibs on the dead guys".
