I was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on October 23, 1956 because our town, Moyie Springs, didn't have a hospital
I am a fourth generation Idahonian. My ancient ancestors homesteaded near Deary.
Dad was born in Fernwood and Mom in Deary.
My Dad was a field topographer for USGS. He plotted the land, mountains and water for the USGS topo maps.
We moved 2 to 4 times a year. Mostly to small towns in the western states.
By the time I finished High School, I had been to almost 30 different schools. From two-room schools to big city schools.

Some of the towns I went to school in:
Idaho: Clarkia, Ashton, Swann Valley, Jerome, Lewiston
Washington: Davenport, Spokane, Pasco
Oregon: John Day, Burns, Jordan Valley, Vale, Hermiston
Arizona: Gila Bend, Wilcox, Globe
California: Cedarville, San Jose
Utah: Vernal, Park Valley (not Park City)
There are more but I can't think of them right now.

Now I live in California where I am a consulting engineer and teach at a university.
I am married and have two kids.

I am middle-aged and balding.

I am a really pitiful, even pathetic, climber.
