HUAYNO



From the Andean mountain range comes the Huayno. Through a world of color, life, imagination and natural beauty, the dance interprets the Andean folklore. Peruvian indigenous culture continues to be a strong presence in Peruvian tradition and dance. The dance is characterized by its colorful costumes and the music which is performed with native instruments like the quena (flute), antara (pan flute), charango (miniature guitar), and the wancara (oversize drum.)
