"I don't want to laugh," she cowered. "It scares me soo much". She retreated back under her blanket and I was left with a quivering mound and my own scared thoughts. She melted into the night under her table.

The cold tower rocked gently in the cool breeze as I started back down. I could feel the cold even through my shoes. Even if they hadn't had holes I would have felt it, it was a wind that blew through your body and wrapped neatly around your soul. The grey cold flagstones made a smart noise as they met my shoes. I could still hear crying from the towers top.

The dark night sky made me feel even worse when I got outside. The pitiful crying had become wails of pain, and the open night sky had given way to my fears; they now came out in full force. I turned to go but was stopped. 'Please don't do anything' I heard in my head. It was a distant voice, far off. I closed my eyes and continued. 'Don't' I heard again. I shook my head in defiance and continued.

I hadn't made it two stones when I tripped on a particularly large rock and fell over. Dust rose around my fallen body, and I could hear laughter ringing down from the tower, followed smartly by a shriek. I rolled over and looked toward the tower in a hurry. Like a shadow of black upon black itself, I saw a winged creation sweep into the towers one, cold, evil looking window. It stared at me while I waited to here what would come next.

A quiet scream and the flapping of leathery wings followed the dead silence which accompanied my probing mind, the creature flew off, and carried with it a dark, limp, body, no bigger than a young girl.
I cursed the God's there and then, took up my weapon and charged out into the night. Fibsuu I had promised to protect, and Fibsuu I would defend. "To the last struggle, to the last drop."
