The question one must ask themselves is this. What price do we pay for our sanity?
Sanity is control over ourselves. But in this control, we do not release our true selves. Perhaps this "true nature" within us doesn’t work within society, it may not even work within life (, being self-destructive in nature). But these are our true selves. Within this cage, that each and everyone one of us locks ourselves - this "sanity" - We walk about our lives, passing each other by. But none of us are individuals. We are all “sane people”
We are gray and mindless matter. Sanity comes at a price, and that price is our emotions, therefore ourselves. When a "lunatic" is running around, what they feel are strong and true emotions. They are people who have realized themselves, and embraced it for all its worth. Oh occasionally the blindfold that is sanity drops over our eyes again and we regret our "insanity". But it is all a lie. Within the mental institutions of this world, we force people to return to our state. Using drugs to cloud their emotions, and then proceed to brainwash each and every one of them. Then they become "normal" again, and can resume their lives as mindless, gray, blobs.
Those few individuals that manage to remain free from this brainwashing are locked up denied the freedom they deserve. Freedom in mind, or freedom in body. What a choice to make. Keep in mind those few individuals who remain free in both mind and body, must remain hidden from the scrutinizing eyes of society who labels then as wrong and proceeds to violate their freedom, and attempt their brainwashing. Those who remain free and hidden must still remain strong from the constant pressure of "family and friends" who want them to fit in.
To these people I cry Brothers and Sisters. Do not give up in despair, despair that you are one of the few who can truly know. You are the only true few who still know what it is to feel. Keep your mind on what you gain from your independence. To know happiness, joy, humor, please and most of all. To know Love. These are the things we struggle for. These are the reasons we are individuals, why we are free with the rest are The Mass.
I do not call upon thee to reveal thyself, upon that path lies only doom. The doom that our captured brethren know. Rather I call upon thee to remain strong in the face of all that plagues us. Remain strong in the strength to truly feel. Feel like the "sane people" never can, nor can they even imagine.
What price do we pay for our sanity? Nay, what price do we pay for our lack thereof, and is it worth it? To that question the answer is simple. Yes. It most certainly is.
Remain strong. Remain Free. Keep on feeling.
