To My Grandmother

To my grandmother
For all the things she has done.
She may see me as a failure,
But that's just her way of saying,
"I know you can do more."
She may see me as throwing my life away,
But that's her way of saying,
"You're better than that."
She may see my moving away from home as a mistake,
but that's just her way of saying,
"You are missed."
She may not like my self expression,
but that's just her way of saying,
"Don't be so angry.
Everything's all right.
You are in God's hands now."
She may see God in me, but I do not.
To that she'd say, "Keep looking."
That's my Grandma!
