Shâdi Shafiei studied Persian music and setâr playing at Tehran University where she received her BA in 1995. She worked extensively under the supervision of Dr. Dariush Safvat and Dariush Talai and also accompanied Sima Bina in many concerts. Shâdi has been teaching setâr since 1989 and especially has considerable experience teaching young students. She moved to US in 1996 and at the present time is working on her MA in Art history.
AmirHosein Pourjavadi is a Ph.D. student of Iranian studies at UCLA. He received his BA in Music from Tehran University and his MA in Ethnomusicology from the CUNY Graduate School. He is also a professional setâr player and has studied extensively with Dariush Safvat, Hossein Alizadeh and Dariush Talai.
Siamak Farboudi has played târ for 10 of his 19 years age! He teaches târ technique and notation. Occasionally we have sessions with Morteza Yadollahi, an advanced student of MohammadReza Lotfi.
