Judy and Uncle Thomas returned several hours later to find Judy's father lying on the floor unconscious. Though he sustained a gun shot wound he recovered after several weeks in the hospital under the care of a black nurse whom he called...Toby. Upon returning home Judy's father continued his hatred for black people and is still puzzled as to why a white person would rob anyone.
