DOVER:
UNKNOWN LOCATION:
11:45P.M.

Parker, Lyle, Sam, Cox, Broots and Sydney were on a stakeout in Dover. Location classified. They were all here because the person they were watching is suspected to be screwing around with The Centre. The Triumvirate ordered them to come. No one at The Centre knows about this because Matumbo suspects there is a leak inside The Centre. He wants them found and brought to him. Also Parker has a hunch that Brad Stephens was involved in the murder of Thomas.

Lyle and Cox walked into the room where all their surveillance equipment is set up and sitting at the desk with the headphones on is Parker. Sleeping. Her legs are propped up on the desk and she's leaning back in the chair. "She's had enough." Lyle gently took the headphones off her and listened. Classical music was playing gently. "No wonder she's asleep. But she's been here since 7 this morning."

"I can take her back to her room." Cox suggested.

"OK, but if you do ANYTHING, I will personally beat you till you can't walk for a month."

"I won't do anything." Cox gently put her arm around his neck and lifted her up gently. For someone just under 6 foot, she isn't that heavy. Cox carried her out of the room and down to the car.

When Cox got her to the hotel he got her key and carried her up to her room, he laid her out of the bed and carefully took off her thigh high boots and sat them on the floor at the foot of the bed. He gently sat her up and took off her coat.

Parker leant forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. She nuzzled into his neck. He gently undid her grasp that was around his neck and laid her back down. He softly caressed her thigh and walked to the door. "Tommy?" Parker said sleepily.

"Shh, go back to sleep." Cox whispered. She turned on her side and went back to sleep. He smiled and left the room.

THE HOTEL:
THE NEXT MORNING:
PARKER'S ROOM:
8:10A.M.

Parker woke up slowly only to find that she was in her hotel room. She rolled onto her back and stretched, sitting up on her elbows. Whoever brought her back here took off her boots and coat. "If it was anyone other than Lyle I'm gonna hafta kill them." She snarled as she stood up on the bed and walked off the edge and into the bathroom.

SURVEILLANCE HOUSE:
9:05A.M.

Parker just walked in and everyone was there. Cox seemed to be acting differently. He looked at who came in and saw her, then looked back onto the monitors. He usually stares at her. "Who's the bastard who took me back to the hotel?" She snarled.

"I did, why?" Lyle answered her. Cox looked at him strangely, which he ignores.

"No reason, I just wanted to know, that's all." She walked up behind them. "So what's our little subject doing?"

"Nothing terribly exciting." Lyle answered. She looked at the monitors as she took the headphones off Cox's head. She put one muff on her ear and listened, the music was playing again. She could also hear a faint conversation in the background.

"...Going to be late...What?" That sounded like Brad. The music went off.

"I said, that we better not be late you know what Joey's like when we're late." That must be his wife. Sheree.

"Yeah, yeah, don't get worked up! Do you know where he wants to meet?"

"He said to pick him up from his place and bring him here." Sheree answered.

Parker could hear doors opening and then slamming. "Get the car ready, they're going out." Sam left.

"Do you know where?" Cox asked.

"No, they haven't said anything yet. Do you think they're on to us?"

"They shouldn't be, we hid the microphone and cameras where NO ONE would see them unless they knew what they were looking for." Lyle answered.

"They better not find them otherwise we're screwed!" Parker gave the headset back to Cox and walked to the door.

"Parker, what do you want us to do?" Lyle asked her.

"Stay here, I'm gonna fly solo." She left.

"Cox, go with her."

"OK, but I want a word with you when I get back." He ran after her.

"Do what you like, just watch my sister!" Lyle called after him.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Down at the car, Cox just caught up with Parker. "I said I'm going solo!" She snarled at him.

"I know, but Lyle wants me to go with you."

"Fine, we don't have time to argue, just get in and shut up!" Parker got behind the wheel, Cox in the passenger-seat. Sam went back inside after they left.

They had been following for half an hour when the silver Mercedes stopped. "You're getting too close." Cox said to her.

"Do you want to drive?"

"No."

"Shut up then! I know what I'm doing." Parker swung out and past them. Brad and Sheree were getting out of their car and walking up to a massive white stone house. Parker went down to the other block, turned round parked so they could see what was going on, but also far enough away so not to be seen. "See?"

"I never doubted you for a minute." Cox smiled at her.

"You are some piece of work." Parker shook her head and watched the house.

"Thank you." He smiled again.

"I can't even insult you!" She snarled at him coldly.

"No."

"Christ!"

An hour later, Brad, Sheree and some other guy, most probably Joey, came back out to the car. "About time! If I had to spend another 10 minutes with you I think I'd go crazy!" She started to the car and sat there waiting for the others to move off.

"I'm beginning to think you don't like me."

"Well done! How long did it take you to figure that out?" The Mercedes moved off and Parker followed at a distance. "Give me the phone." Cox handed it to her and without her noticing he purposely touched her hand. She took the phone and dialed Lyle's cell.

"Yes?"

"They're coming back." Parker said and hung up. She handed the phone back to Cox. On the way back to the surveillance house, Cox was looking at her out of the corner of his eye.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Cox and Parker walked in and she sat down in the chair next to Lyle. She put the headphones on and listened..."So Brad, did you do what I told you to do concerning The Centre?"

"Yeah, please have a seat."

"Thank you...What happened?"

"Like you told me the daughter was leaving. And everything went according to plan. It couldn't have gone better. She thinks her father was responsible and still believes it."

Parker was getting angry. Sydney saw how she was clenching her fists. He came over and touched her shoulder gently. She bent her head down with her fists resting against her forehead.

"How long till The Centre will be split?"

"I'm not sure. When I killed the lover of the daughter everything just went neutral like they were walking on glass. I think he knew that it was us, but he was too concerned about the daughter. She will be no longer be a problem."

Parker pulled the headphones off and stormed over to the door. Cox stood in front of her blocking her way. "Move!" She snarled at him angrily.

Lyle got up and walked over to her. "Easy, we'll have him where we want him in a little while." Lyle gently touched her shoulder. She slapped his hand away and ended up punching him in the mouth. He held his mouth and winced.

"Move outta my way!" She growled at him, stepping closer.

"You're not to compromise this operation." He told her calmly.

"Unless you want me to kill you, move." She snarled like a wild animal.

"No." He stood his ground firmly.

Parker stepped up and punched him in the face. Cox spun her round so that her back was against his chest. She started to fight and thrash around but he was stronger and held her against him. "Let go!" She screamed.

"Parker, listen!" Lyle snarled at her, he wouldn't get anywhere been nice when she's in a mood like this even Satan would run and hide.

"Those fuckheads killed Tommy!" She cried out.

"I know, but we'll get them soon, just be patient."

"They killed Tommy just to get to Daddy." She collapsed against Cox. He gently let her fall to the floor.

"You knew, didn't you? That's why you were so interested in coming on the stakeout." Lyle knelt in front of her and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"He died for no reason." She whimpered.

"I know, Mom died for no reason." He gently stroked her head. She was trembling. "Take her back to the hotel and stay with her for a while." Lyle said gently.

Cox nodded and gently lifted her up and started to walk to the door. "No, let go." She tried to push him away but he just picked her up and carried her.

THE HOTEL:
10:45A.M.

Parker walked into the hotel room in a trance. She was walking around like a lost puppy. Cox quietly shut the door behind him. She got onto the couch and curled up in the corner, resting her head on the back.

Cox came over and sat next to her. She didn't say a word. "Give me your foot." He said gently. She didn't move. He placed a gentle hand on her knee. "Just give me your foot for a minute, your heels will put holes in the couch." She shifted her weight and gave him one of her feet. He gently rolled up the cuff of her leather pants and undid the zipper of the boot. When he had finished with her left foot she pulled in back and gave him her right one. He took the right boot off as well and sat it on the floor.

"Lyle didn't bring me here last night...You did." Parker said quietly. Cox nodded. "Why didn't you say anything?"

"Lyle already said that he brought you here, so I didn't say anything." Cox shrugged his shoulders.

"Why didn't you tell me in the car?"

"I don't know! When I'm with you I can't think straight." He shook his head.

"That's nothing new, no one can think straight." She smiled.

"The first day I saw you in The Centre, I couldn't get you out of my head. When I nearly told you something, something else goes wrong, Lyle comes in or you have to go somewhere."

"What do you want to tell me?"

"You're like poison in my blood that I can't get out. The way you walk around The Centre, not letting anyone get to you, the way you take control of every situation...The...I..."

"You're babbling on like an idiot." She smiled.

"I can't help it."

"You weren't doing to bad until you started to sound like a drunk." She moved closer to him, tucking her legs underneath her.

"I..." He was still fumbling around with words. She gently touched his neck. "The way you look at me with your blue eyes when you saw me staring..." He started to trail off again. She put her hands either side of his head and made him look at her.

"You're gonna have to learn to stop talking like a drunk." She smiled at him.

"But I can't help it. You make everything that I wanted to tell you fly out of my head."

"I have that influence on people." He lifted his hand and gently stroked her face. Her eyes closed slightly as she concentrated on the hand on her face. She started to purr softly when he traced down onto her neck.

She came back with a slap of reality. 'THIS ISN'T TOMMY! OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK!' The little voice inside of Parker's head screamed. She obeyed and saw Cox sitting next to her with his hand gently stroking her neck. 'Well done! You're meant to be in control and now you're letting me lead this poor guy on! Well done! Take over!' Parker snarled at the voice. 'My pleasure Angel.'

Parker jumped off the couch and walked away from him. "What?" Cox looked at her confused.

"You better leave." Parker said gently.

"But I..."

"I think it would be best if you left." She crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked at him with cool eyes.

"You thought I was someone else, didn't you?"

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be, I understand, but at least you let me get some things off my chest. I know it's difficult for you." Cox walked to the door and opened it.

"I'm sorry, I should have paid attention to what I was doing."

"Don't be, it's good to let go for a little while. Especially when you just lost someone you loved and you want them with you. I understand what you did and don't worry, I won't tell anyone what just happened. I should've have seen what was going on." Then he just left.

'You do realise that you've hurt him.' The little voice commented. "Oh shut up!" Parker snarled out loud and walked into the bedroom. 'I will not, you should be in control!' The voice shouted at her. 'Leave me alone!' Parker whimpered in her mind. 'I can't, I'm part of you. And I know that you wanted him to do that so you could just crush him!' The voice hissed coldly. "I did not! I thought it was Tommy!" Parker cried as she curled up on the bed. "I thought it was Tommy." She whimpered as she started to tremble.

There was a gentle knock at the door but Parker didn't hear it. Lyle walked through the door and closed it gently. "Parker?" He called softly. He saw her boots on the floor near the couch. He walked further in and looked around. He saw her on the bed in a ball trembling. "Sis, what's wrong?" He rushed over to her. "Shh, it's OK now, what did he do?" Lyle snarled as he gently stroked her head.

"Nothing." She shook her head.

"Come here." He lifted her up slightly and wrapped his arm around her shoulders and held her tightly. "I should have brought you back." He gently kissed her forehead.

"Cox didn't do anything." She rested her hand on his other shoulder. "It's just me."

"OK, we'll have the bastards responsible for the murder of Thomas in a little while, can you hang on?" She started to cry softly. "I take that as a no." He held her against him tightly. She wrapped her arms around his neck tightly and buried her face in his shoulder.

"I can't take it anymore! I want it to stop hurting!" She cried out in pain.

"Shh, it'll be over soon and you can start to heal." He stroked her head softly.

"I just wanted somebody to love me and they took him, I hate everyone and everything because of it!" She snarled.

"Even Big Brother?" Lyle smiled and touched her head.

"No."

"Good, cause you need someone to take care of you." He gently kissed her forehead again. She smiled and snuggled closer to him. "That's a girl, you need to relax." He held her tightly. "You can go to sleep and I'll stay for a while." A few minutes later she was leaning heavily against his shoulder. He laid down on his back and still held her. She moved closer to him and tightened her arms around his neck. He smiled and drifted off to sleep as well.

SURVEILLANCE HOUSE:
THE NEXT MORNING:
9:00A.M.

Lyle spent most of the night with Parker sleeping beside him. He vowed that he would make Cox pay for upsetting Parker. She might have said that he didn't do anything but Lyle still wanted answers. He was in the room with all the equipment when Cox came in. "What the hell did you do to her last night?" Lyle demanded.

"I didn't do anything, you told me to take her home, so I took her home."

"I said take her home not upset her! What did you do to her?" Lyle shoved Cox against the wall and held him by his throat.

"I didn't do anything!" Cox snarled back.

Sydney and Sam came in when they heard the yelling. "Lyle what's wrong?"

"This bastard did something to Parker!" Lyle snarled, his eyes blazing.

"I didn't do anything to her!"

"What did Parker say?"

"She didn't say anything! She was upset and this waste of space was the last one to be with her before I saw her!" Lyle brought his head forward and smashed it against the wall.

"I didn't do anything! Ask her!"

"I will, when she comes in. I had to stay with her last night because of something you did or said!" Lyle snarled. "If I find out you hurt her in ANYWAY, The Triumvirate is gonna have to find someone else to fill in your position at The Centre."

"Where is she now? Maybe I can find out what happened last night."

"She should be here by now."

"OK, just stay calm till I get back with some answers." Sydney left.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Sydney was sitting on the stairs in the garage, waiting for Parker. He waited for 10 minutes before she came. She got out of the car and walked over to where he was sitting. "Morning Syd." She said in a small voice.

"Morning, can I talk with you for a minute?"

"Sure, about?"

"Sit down." She sat down next to him on the stairs. "What was wrong last night? Lyle's accusing Cox of doing something. He said that you were upset and he had to stay with you last night." She looked down at the ground with sad eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked gently.

"You'll think it's silly." She shook her head.

"When you were little I put your problems first, before any of my work, even when they weren't that big but you made them out to be the end of the world. Remember how it would make you feel when I'd fix everything?" He gently touched her shoulder and looked at her.

"I remember." She nodded.

"Just think of it as another one of those times. I'll try and make everything all better." She looked at him with sad eyes. "I can help if you'll just tell me."

"It's this stakeout. Getting nearer to the murderer of Tommy is making my world collapse. I don't know who I am anymore Syd. Tommy was showing me but know I don't know. It's hurting so much that the killer is so close I can see, hear and nearly smell him. It's confusing everything I ever knew. I just want things the way they were. I just want Tommy to love me like before!" She covered her face and started to cry.

He pulled her onto his shoulder and held her. "It's OK, Lyle, Broots and I'll look after you. You don't need to worry."

"But everything's just scaring me! I don't know what to do!"

"I don't know either. Just take everything as it comes and we'll help you deal with it." Sydney gently rocked her. He looked up and saw Sam behind them. He mouthed 'Should I get Mr Lyle'. Sydney nodded. Sam left. "You'll be OK now."

"I don't know what to do anymore!"

"Shh, just take it easy, everything will be all over soon." Sydney whispered to her soothingly.

"It's my fault that Tommy was killed. I should have pushed him away when I found out what was going on! I should have ignored him."

"Even when he kept after you the way he did? Parker, it's OK to hurt since he was murdered but it wasn't your fault, nothing is ever your fault. If you must blame someone, blame Brad, he's the one who killed him."

"All because he wanted to get to Daddy!"

"Shh. If Mr Parker knew what was happening he would have protected him." Sydney lied. But he just said what Parker wanted to hear. She still loved her father even with all the pain he causes her. Love really does make you blind. But she probably just chooses to turn the other cheek. Sydney thought this through.

"Like hell he would have! He hated Tommy! He didn't think Tommy was worthy of someone like me! But I still loved him!"

"I know you did." Sydney looked up and saw Lyle behind him. He moved and sat down next to Parker and rubbed her back gently.

"Dad will pay just like the rest of them. I'll see to that." He said gently as he softly stroked her back. She lifted her head away from Sydney's shoulder and looked at him. She nodded. "Now, do you want me to take you back to the hotel?"

"No, I just want to stay here for a while." She rested her head on Lyle's shoulder and closed her eyes. Lyle wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. Sydney stood up and smiled at her. He walked up the stairs only to be intercepted by Broots.

"Is she OK Syd?"

"Yeah. She just needed someone with her to listen and understand. You aren't to tell ANYONE about what just happened here. Especially Mr Parker."

"I know Syd, I won't." They walked back into the room with all the equipment and left the twins alone.

SURVEILLANCE HOUSE:
SAME DAY:
10:30A.M.

Parker and Lyle entered the room with all the equipment. Cox stood up and let her sit down. She ignored him and sat in Lyle's chair. Lyle shot him a cold glare and stood behind his sister. "What's the bastard been doing?" She snarled as she looked over the monitors.

"We'll be able to move in tomorrow."

"That's not what I asked." She snarled angrily. Sydney smiled from the door. She was back. She should have a break down more often, it makes her feel a lot better and she gets back to normal quicker.

"We've got some hard proof that he is double-crossing us." Cox answered.

"And what about Thomas? Has he mentioned anything else?" Lyle asked as Parker put the headphones on and listened.

"No, only what he said earlier. But we can still move in tomorrow." Cox answered cautiously.

"What's stopping us from moving in now? If we wait till tomorrow we'll only be getting one of the arseholes." She snarled, turning to glare at Cox.

"Joey is meeting with his boss tomorrow.

"I thought Joey was the boss."

"He takes his orders from someone else."

"Christ, how many people am I gonna have to kill to get to the person who killed Tommy?"

"Joey's boss." Lyle said gently, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"I'm going rip his heart out and ram it down his throat!" She snarled, looking at the monitors. Everyone knew she meant everything she said.

SURVEILLANCE HOUSE:
NEXT DAY.

Parker was pacing around the surveillance house restlessly. "Why don't you calm down? You'll upset your ulcer." Lyle said gently. She had been restless all morning.

"I don't care. What's the time?"

"10 to 2. 10 more minutes. Can you wait that long?"

"Yeah." She continued to pace.

STEPHENS RESIDENCE:
2P.M.

Sam picked the locks on the front door. They walked into library where the meeting was taking place. "Daddy." She gasped.

"Angel!" He jumped up. "It's not what you think."

"Why?" Joey started to walk towards her. BANG! She shot him in the leg. "Wait your turn. Why did you do it?" She snarled. "You two-faced, arrogant, self-righteous, self-centered, slimy, lying, son of a whore! WHY?" She demanded.

"Honey, please you don't understand."

"I understand you killed Tommy! You knew how much he meant to me. You knew that it would rip me apart yet you still did it. You make my skin crawl. I can't believe I thought you cared."

"But I do. Please Angel..."

"NO! You have never cared. If you did you wouldn't have killed him." She shot him three times in the chest. She then turned on Brad, Joey and Sheree shooting them in the head.

She turned and ran out of them room, nearly knocking Cox over in the process. "Mandy! Sam get a clean-up crew here now!"

"Yes Sir."

He found her leaning against the car with her head down, crying. "Mandy." He walked up next to her.

"He lied to me." She shook her head.

"Come here Sis." He held his weeping sister tightly. "Shh, it's gonna be all right. I'll make sure no one hurts you again."

"How could he?" She sobbed.

"Shh, you'll be all right." He started to sway her gently.

"He knew but he still did it."

"I know." He gently stroked her head.

"It's all my fault. I should've seen it coming. I should've known Daddy was lying. I should've protected Tommy."

"You would've just got yourself killed and I don't wanna see that happen."

"He died for no reason."

"I know." Lyle gently swayed her from side to side. Both were oblivious to the cleaner vans that pulled up, accompanied by three more sweeper vans.

The End of Stakeout.

I know that this was really short and didn't have much of a story line, but I took me so long that I just lost interest and forgot what I wanted to do. It was meant to be longer but I just forgot everything so I just wanted to wrap it up A/S/A/P. Gimme, gimme, gimme feedback, I need it to survive.
