My Trip To New York City 2002
Check out my Next Destination - Boston
The picture below is of Times Square. This was the first place my brother and I visited when we arrived in New York City. It was beautiful, fun and exactly what I had expected. We went back five or six more times during our week visit.
The picture to the right is a memorial that was just off of Times Square. It's dedicated to the fallen firemen of 9/11.
Here you have my brother and I on top of the Empire State Building. We did that on our second day in the city. It was beautiful. It's amazing how high it is.. you look down and cars look like ants. Being up there really puts the city into perspective. The city is so small but so big at the same time.
The Picture to the right is downtown New York, it's where the Twin Towers once stood. There is a black building with an American flag on it, that marks the spot.
The bottom two picture is one of my brother and I standing in front of the Statue of Liberty. This again was something that you see all the time on TV and it was so much fun to see it live. Going inside was closed since 9/11 but it was nice standing next to it.  The other picture of a very small portion of the wall arounds St. Peter's Church. There are two blocks of memorial items. Flags, pictures, teddy bears, letters.. etc. This was one of the most moving places I'd ever been. I stood there in tears reading notes to loved one  lost on 9/11
