Well, I basically used the article from Jason's web page to install my EI dizzy. The car runs well, but the stupid thing makes my factory tach jump all over! I am looking for a new little black box, as I think he is the culprit of my twitchy tach. We'll see. I plan to have some pictures if the switch up soon.
Update (2/26/02): I had always meant to try to "re-curve" the mechanical advance in my new distributor, and I just got around to it. My old distributor had 11.5 degrees advance on it, and the new one only had 6.5, plus it had two sets of springs (making for a slower advance curve) Well, I took off one set of springs, and I noticed a difference in acceleration. I used to have a huge "bogging down" right off the line. Removing the inner springs on the new distributor got rid of most of the problem. Soon I plan on increasing the amount of advance it gives. I'll post my findings when I get around to trying it. |
