The History of Isis
   " I am the Goddess, the Possessor of magic, who preforms magic, effective of speech, excellent of words"
       No other Egyptian God or Goddess so captured the mind of the Greeks and Romans as Isis did.  For long, Isis was famous on the Far East and the mediterrainian, she was widely popular- Not only for Her beauty and devotion, but as the Savior of Horus, and for Her power.  While all else in Egypt had fallen, Isis did not.  Even as Christianity was the new belief, Her worship flourished in the south of the country. 
          
ISIS- REANIMATOR OF OSIRIS
       The Earth, Geb and the Sky, Nut gave birth to their children, Isis, Osiris, Nepthys and Set.  Isis and Osiris fell in love in the womb, while Nepthys and Set were destined for a unhappy and loveless marriage.  Ra choose Osiris to rule over the land, with the wise Isis at his side. These were happy times. One day while Isis was gone, Nepthys snuck into Isis's and Osiris's palace.  Osiris mistook Nepthys for Isis, and they both intercourse. Nepthys had a son by him, but out of fear of Set, she put the baby in the wilderness.  Isis quickly rescued the child, and raised him as Her own son, naming him Anubis. Inevitibly, Set's anger was aroused out of jealuousy of Isis and Osiris..  While Isis was away helping the birth of the women, Osirs was alone at the palace.  This part goes many ways, of Osiris's murder, but either way Osiris ended up deceased, in the Nile. Isis then took a long journey seeking out Her husband'd body, with Nepthys and Anubis at Her side.  Isis found Her husband's body and used Her magical powers to bring him back to life long enough to concieve a child by him.  That child was Horus.  In time, Osiris was made ruler of the underworld, he has the power that gives life to the crops.

                  


 
                       ISIS THE SAVIOR
   
Fearing Set would try to kill Her son, Isis secretly gave birth in the marshes of the Nile, attended by the cow goddess Hathor.  At every turn, the young Horus was threatend by dangerous forces and beasts.  But on each occasion, Isis either cured him Herself, or enlisted the aid of other dieties.  When Horus an adult, he claimed his right to suceed hit father, and fought with Set for a long period of time.  Horus preveiled and Set was made to live in the sky.
