BOB ESSENSA
Bob Essensa is the backup goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres.  He is pretty frickin' awesome.

Bob came into the league way back in 1989 with the Winnipeg Jets.  He was really good for a few years, and even was nominated for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goalie once.

Bob has played for Winnipeg, Detroit, Edmonton, Phoenix, Vancouver and now Buffalo.

Bob rocks.  I'm still waiting for him to get his first win as a Sabre.  There will be a celebration.

Also, a friend of mine and I were at one time working on a book called
"The Wacky Adventures of Bob Essensa".  Check it out.  I think it's pretty funny, even though it isn't finished.

Enjoy the Bob Essensa page.

BOB'S LAST GAME
:  Bob got a little bit more playing time on March 4h, playing the last fifteen minutes of Buffalo's 3-0 loss to Edmonton.  The Oilers were already had that 3-0 lead when Bob came in, so they took it easy on him.  He stopped all three shots he faced.

Unfortunately, this quite possibly may have been Bob's last NHL appearance.  Check out the most recent article below.
