'My' bit of land, 'Elysium', is in the Clare Valley. I reckon it's one of the most beautiful places in the world, in its own way.

The images on this page have been compressed for faster loading - this may lead to some noticeable loss of quality in some images.

Mist in orchard An early morning winter mist hanging in the Armagh valley and over our little olive orchard in the foreground. This sort of mist always clears shortly after sunrise.

Bluegum Bluegum trees on a misty winter's morning

Casuarina Newly rissen sun behind a young Casuarina (Allocasuarina verticilata) tree.

The tree on the left is a bluegum (Eucalyptus leucoxilon).

Sheep These sheep were being uncharateristically cooperative in standing still long enough for me to use them in the foreground of several photos.

Shafts of sunlight Shafts of early morning sunlight shine through the foliage of gum trees.

The three larger trees near the foreground were on the property when I bought it, I planted all the others.

Eucalyptus Sunlight striking Eucalyptus sturtii foliage early on a duey morning.

Mist on the ground There is a hill on Elysium that is high enough to give a view over most of the ground-hugging early morning fogs. It can be very beautiful when the early sun shines on the top of the fog.

This view looks north, or NNE, over the Armagh and Hutt valleys.
