We have owned this car since it was new. It has travelled about 350Mm
(350 000Km) and is still running well. I have been undecided about
selling or keeping it; selling is a bit like selling one of the kids.
My wife thinks I'm silly for this attitude.
Specifications
Original 2L engine, no modifications, built for leaded fuel.
Historical registration.
Condition
There is not much rust on the car, it has never been kept for any length of
time near the coast, and has always been stored in either car port or shed.
The seats, other than the driver's
seat, which is OK, are a bit flat and not particulary comfortable.
The heater is only of any use for demisting the windscreen.
The car is fairly draughty. It starts and runs well, steering, tyres,
etc. all in good condition. Temperature guage stopped working in June 2006.
It has never been involved in any collisions, although the back bumper is a
bit bent (don't remember how it got that way) and there is a small dent at the
back where I backed into a pipe.
Notes
I have run the car on unleaded fuel for about the last 10Mm. It handles this
well; the only problem seems to be some pre-ignition when I switch off the
engine.
Where?
The car is in a shed at Clare, Mid-North, South Australia.
