1986-87 Season:

• Broke into the league in fine fashion, establishing a club record for wins by a rookie on the way to winning the team's MVP award.
• His 37 wins were the fourth most by a rookie in league history.
• Lead NHL goalies in Games Played, Wins, Minutes, and Save Precentage.
• Was the only rookie selected to the All-Star team for Rendez-Vous in 1987.
• Played in an NHL-Record (including playoff's) 92 games, besting Bernie Parent's 1973- 74 mark of 90 appearences.
• Became only the fifth goaltender in NHL history to reach the 52-win plateau (37 regular season and 15 playoff).
• Racked up the postseason awards, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Stanley Cup playoff's MVP, and the Vezina Trophy as the league's outstanding goaltender.

1989-90 Season:

• Was limited to a career-low 8 appearences.
• Did not play in the first 12 games of the season while serving his suspension for slashing Chris Chelios in game 6 of the Wales Conference Final vs. Montreal.
• Also sat out a total of 51 games with various injuries.
• Made his first start of the season Nov. 4 vs. Toronto, and promptly pulled his groin after only 40 minutes of play.
• Pulled his hamstring in the Nov. 15 practice.
• Spent one game with Hershey of the AHL on a conditioning assignment.

1990-91 Season:

• Posted his lowest full-season win total of his Flyer career (13).
• Lead Philadelphia's four-man goalie squad in starts (34) and appearences (36), and finished second witha 3.13 GAA.
• Compiled a four-game win streak from Jan. 15 to Jan. 24.
• Missed 35 games due to injuries: five with a strained groin muscle, 21 with a sprained knee, and 9 with a groin pull.

1991-92 Season:

• Tied for fifth in the league with 3 shutouts.
• Compiled a 10-5-3 mark with a 3.28 GAA in 19 appearances at home.
• Lead the Flyer goalies in appearances (45), starts (43), and wins (16).
• Sidelined for nine games from Nov. 29 to Dec. 15 with tendinitis in his right shoulder.
• Also missed 6 games while serving a suspension (Oct. 8 to 24) for a preseason slashing incident on Detroit's Jim Cummins Sept. 22.

1992-93 Season:

• Spent his only season with Quebec after being acquired in a blockbuster deal by Philadelphia June 30.
• Traded by the Philadelphia Flyers with Steve Duchesne, Peter Forsberg, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Chris Simon, 1993 first-round pick (Jocelyn Thibault), 1994 first-round pick (Nolan Baumgartner) to the Quebec Nordiques, and cash to the New York Islanders for Eric Lindros on June 30, 1992.
• Lead the Nordiques in Games Played, appearing in 54 games.
• Narrowly missed reaching the 30-win plateau for the fourth time in his career, logging 29 victories against only 16 setbacks.
• Compiled a 6-game undefeated streak from Nov. 6 to 26, going 5-0-1.
• Sat out 14 contests from Feb. 21 to Mar. 20 with a pulled thigh muscle.
• Notched the 150th win of his career Jan. 5 vs. the Islanders.

1993-94 Season:

• Spent his first season in the Islanders' organization after being acquired in an off-season trade with Quebec.
• Traded by the Quebec Nordiques with the 1993 first-round pick (Todd Bertuzzi) to the New York Islanders for Mark Fitzpatrick and the 1993 first-round pick (Adam Deadmarsh) on June 20, 1993.
• Wasted no time in getting his name etched in the Isles' record book, establishing a club record by starting 20 consecutive games from Nov. 17 to Jan. 4 (previous record was held by Billy Smith with 12).
• Made his New York debut Oct. 5 at Calgary and was selected as the second star of the game.
• Earned his first win Oct. 10 in an overtime contest in Anaheim.
• Missed his career high in Games Played by one, appeared in the second-most games (65) of his NHL career, dressing for all of the club's contests but the Mar. 9 game vs. Vancouver.
• Tied for second in the NHL with 5 shutouts.
• Had only 4 shutouts in his 7-year NHL career prior to the '93-94 campaign.
• Recorded his first shutout of the year, Oct. 26 vs. Los Angeles when he blanked the Kings 7-0.
• Had the finest week of his career in February, recording three shutouts and earning the NHL's Player of the Week honor.
• Began the week by becoming only the second goaltender in club history (Resch-1975) to register back-to-back shutouts when he blanked Ottawa Feb. 19 and Washington Feb. 21.
• Also blanked Philadelphia Feb. 25 to finish the week with a 1.74 GAA and a 3-1-0 mark.
• The shutouts also helped him establish a club record home shutout streak of 249 minutes and 39 seconds.
• Came on strong in the second half of the season, posting a 12-6-2 mark and 4 shutouts in his final 20 sppearances.
• Clinched the Isles' playoff berth with his fifth shutout of the season, April 13 vs. Tampa Bay.

1994-95 Season:

• Traded by the New York Islanders with 1995 sixth-round draft choice (Dimitri Tertyshny) to the Philadelphia Flyers for Tommy Soderstrom on Sept. 22, 1994.

1995-96 Season:

• Had a 2.17 GAA the lowest of his career.
• Won 30 games for the fourth time in his career.
• Reached a multi-year contract agreement with the Philadelphia Flyers on Aug. 15, 1996.

1996-97 Season:

• Had back-to-back shutouts and paired with Garth Snow to give the Flyers four straight shutouts.
• Recorded the tenth shutout of his career Feb. 25 vs. Montreal.
