In addtition to this general mission statement, there are mission statements which are specific to my various fields of interest, such as architecture,
art, and
education. This statement of general purpose is intended to evolve over time (see past mission statements) and is different from my lists of specific goals, which are achieved (or not) in a given time period. These shorter-term statements of goals and the approach that I take to things in a particular period or type of inquiry, I develop within what I call manifestos.
I do things not for fun and not for the money, but because I have to do them --driven by inner forces. Of course, I try to work it so that these things are also pleasant, safe, not causing harm to others, and so that I also get paid --but these are not why I do them.
So what are these things that I need to do?
