10th May 2002 From:
Jenny Knob Shelter As I sit here eating my delicious pizza, I'm pondering the goods for sale here: groceries; a small range of hardware items; fishing tackle; and everything a hunter could want from Hunter Dan dolls, ammo, camouflage outfits, and rifles, no less! Oh, and most importantly, ten different styles of hunter's camouflage caps. I left the Deli full of energy with a Mississippi Mud ice cream sandwich in hand a charged down the road to pick up the trail. The trail kicked off up a long hill and then for the next five miles or so levelled out and ran beside a creek. Much of the forest today was pine so the walking was easy. The streams here must be in good shape because I saw quite a lot of fish under the bridges as I went over them (pictured above). I'm in the shelter tonight with a whole new crew. There's one guy outside in a hammock and another in a tent. No females here tonight. Some of the people here are: Crosby, Wedding Singer, Threeday, Eric, and Choir Boy. The next town coming up is Pearisburg, which is 16 miles north, however, there is a shelter before it so I'm not sure where I'll end up tomorrow night. I guess it will depend on the weather and how fit I am feeling. I was hoping with all the exercise I would have started to lose my gut, but it doesn't seem to be shrinking yet. I'm off to bed now, so goodnight, all. |
