FINAL ENTRY IN THE
MINOTAUR'S DIARY

Daedalus gets lots of credit
for his brilliant contraptions,
like that mechanical cow
he made for my mother,
but no one seems to notice
how often he screws up.
As an architect, for example,
he leaves a lot to be desired.
He didnt put a single light
in this entire labyrinth.
In order to read or write
I have to make candles
from the rendered flesh
of those hapless Athenian
undergrads that my jailers
send down from time to time.
Daedalus has been on my mind
a lot because of this dream
I had a few nights ago
in which he and my half sister
were cooking up some plot
involving a clue of thread
and Theseus, that professional
wrestler she's been seeing.
I dont remember much else
except the feeling of dread
that has been clinging to me
since I woke up the next day.
I hope this doesnt mean
that he is dreaming up
another brilliant scheme.
