Excel-lent Gradebook is a gradebook program designed to make teachers lives easier that runs inside of Microsoft Excel 97 and later versions of Excel (the grade emailing features do not work on OS X). You can learn about the many features by moving your mouse over the picture of the toolbar and reading the list of features below. If you would like to download a trial version of Excel-lent Gradebook click on the thumbnail at the left. The trial version has all the features of the full version but it only allows you to track a single period. After downloading the gradebook.exe file you need to double-click on it so that it will self-extract into the gradebook Excel file. NOTE: You may need to click on the desktop and press F5 for the desktop to refresh and display the gradebook.xls file after extracting.
Why use a gradebook program that runs inside of Excel? Well, there are two major benefits, first, portability. Since your gradebook is only an Excel file, it goes where you go. If you can find a computer with Excel 97 or 2000 on it you can work on your gradebook. Second, if you need to do something outside of the confines of the program you have the power of Excel. You can copy your grades to another sheet and analyze as you please.

Add Assignment

The Add Assignment button allows you to quickly add a new assignment to your gradebook. Do you have more than one section of the same class? Excel-lent Gradebook will allow you to add the same assignment to multiple sections that you teach.
Add Student
Need to add students to your class roster? Just click on add student and Excel-lent Gradebook will take care of the rest.
