Cycling Europe 1989
    In the bottom photo, I am cycling across one of the largest dykes in the world. In the picture below, the right side of the Afsluitdijk (the Barrier Dyke) is the North Sea (saltwater) and on the left side there is the IJsselmeer, a freshwater lake. They keep the inland water at a much lower level in order to farm on the shoreline.
