Interview with David Tom

Here is what David Tom told CBS.com about his 1st Daytime Emmy Nomination!

CBS.com: Congratulations on your nomination - and the Soap Opera Digest award you just won.

DAVID TOM: Thank you.

CBS.com: You are on a great streak.

DAVID TOM: I'm having a good week. [Laughs]

CBS.com: When did you learn about your nomination?

DAVID TOM: I heard very, very early in the morning. I was half-asleep, but my publicist Thom DeLorenzo gave me a call.

His publicist, also present, interjects: THOM DELORENZO: Actually, I called [David's] mom first because if I didn't I would never hear the end of that. Then I called [his sister] Heather [Victoria], and then I called David and got his machine. DAVID TOM: My mom called me up and goes, "I'm going to call the police if you don't wake up. I'm worried." She was scared. I am extremely hard to wake up. If my alarm doesn't wake me up...I have problems with that.

CBS.com: Well, congratulations.

DAVID TOM: Thank you.
