Hi, David Tom Fans:
I'm still in recovery mode, honestly, I feel as though I penned a new "Survivor Series"...THE ADVENTURES OF DAVID TOM'S CANADIAN WILDERNESS. What a weekend, filled with excitement, raging hormones, flashbulbs, wrestling matches, mud slinging and storyline re-enactments by certain individuals in the crowd. We are talking crowd here, wherever David goes young or old raging hormones follows. It's amazing how many obstacle courses us Y&R fans must endure to view our favourites upclose and personal. Upon arrival at approximately 1 hour prior to showtime, my husband and I positioned ourselves around a circle stage (which resembled the centre ring at a 3-ring circus) which best describes most of the fans present - "circus." We had fans jostling for positions close to the centre stage, we had shoving, pushing...the usual I was here first, back to the back of the line....can you not move your head it's blocking my inexperienced camera...to one very bright individual who decided to use my shoulder as a camera tripod!!!! You meet all kinds in this world, and this day was no acception.
Then came regular announcements from Security personnel, who appear to enjoy being on centre stage...could you please move away from the railing....5 minutes later...could you please remove all items from the railing....5 minutes later...hands off the railing....10 minutes later...I said could please move away from the railing. I decided to make a public announcement of my own, so holding my hand over my mouth as though I was entering the lion's den, I began to inform the crowd...could you kindly move away from the railing, after all the brass was just freshly polished this morning, the artificial flowers had only received their morning nourishment of water. I no sooner blurted out the words....when behold! ....another announcement roared across centre stage....DAVID TOM WILL BE ARRIVING IN A FEW SHORT MINUTES, MAY I REMIND YOU AGAIN...YEAH, YEAH, YUBBA, DUBBA AND DOO!!!! Now that we have reached David's campsite, pitched our tents for the long duration...armed ourselves with fan repellent....checked our photography equipment, we were ready, willing and able to receive his "ROYAL HIGHNESS - SIR SWEET BILLY BLUE EYES OF GENOA CITY....STAGE LEFT ENTER....CENTRE STAGE ALL EYES AFIX".
Sweet Billy Blue Eyes in all is wonderous glory, microphone in hand said, "hello everyone"....I thought for a moment I was on the telephone, I know I heard a phone ringing, but thought I would let my trusty maid Esther answer it. Oh! yes, getting back to Sweet Billy, what a treasure to behold, he has a smile one could die for, a very sincere young gentleman (you noticed I used the word gentleman) afterall, we are talking about our Sweet Billy aren't we? Accompanying him on stage was our versitile, always personable Lilana....she had a way of keeping our raging hormones at a minimum, even though for some young ladies in the crowd they had been on energized mode since the it was announced Sweet Billy would be visiting Canada. Everyone remained transfixed, flashbulbs going off, everyone just in awe of HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, SWEET BILLY OF GENOA CITY!!!! It's time to begin the Q & A segment of the show. This is always the highlight of personal appearances. I so much enjoy watching certain individuals exposing their stupidity, while everyone around them attempts to hold their composure. So if you are ready, I will begin now. For those faint of heart, may I suggest you take a deep breath, please don't fog up the computer screen, afterall you want to view the photos which will follow later, don't you....
QUESTION & ANSWER SEGMENT:
Q. Would David Tom's sister (his twin) accept a role on Y&R?
A. That would be real cool. But presently Nicole is working on some film projects. Nicole
recently starred in a short film which was featured at the prestigious Sundance Film
Festival.
Q. Do you where "boxers or briefs?"
A. Briefs (thank goodness I was worried their for a moment, thought he might be into thongs)
Q. How many pages of dialogue do you have to memorize everyday?
A. It various, sometimes between 30 & 40 pages. Sometimes it can be repetitious. (just like
your blonde female co-star MISS REPETITIOUS HERSELF - BRITNEY THE ONE AND
ONLY MISS SPANDEX)
Q. Do you have a girlfriend?
A. Just broke up with a girl he had been dating for a longtime. No girlfriend at present time.

Q. How long is your present contract?
A. Just signed a new contract which ends in June of 2003.
Q. Do you like to hang out with any of your fellow castmates off stage romantically?
A. No would not date fellow castmates (Mac or Britney) off set, as it could complicate matters
on the set. I do hang out with David Lago/Raul; Alexis Thorpe/Rianna and Lauren
Woodward/Britney on weekends and evenings that we are not working. AS FOR
ASHLEY BASHIOUM/MAC I DON'T HANG OUT WITH HER AS MUCH BECAUSE OF
SHE IS YOUNGER - 16 YEARS OLD. APPARENTLY, DAVID LIKES THE CLUB SCENE.
Q. Do you think Jill should leave Mac alone?
A. Yes, because Mac has never hurt Jill, but Jill is Jill.
Q. Do you have any tatoos or body piercing?
A. No tatoos would be difficult for makeup department. Never been into body piercing.
Q. Are you working on any other projects?
A. I am currently working on a play which I hope will get on the air soon. I've been working
on the play with a friend from the show. My sister Heather/Victoria Newman owns her
own production company in which she has been on tour. Perhaps a film project in the
future.
Q. What is your shoe size?
A. 10
Q. Who's the best kisser - Britney or Mac?
A. Mac (but hestiated a little with his answer, honestly it put him on the spot)
Q. Do you play any sports or watch them?
A. Play a little football and basketball with friends sometimes. I'm interested in purchasing a
basketball hoop for my home. Never have really been sports inclined. Wasn't always
great in sports.
Q. What is your favourite music?
A. My all time favourite group was "The Cure"...hip hop and R&B.
Q. What is your nationality?
A. Little german and swedish.
Q. Is it difficult controlling yourself working with all those sexy women?
A. It can be difficult, but everyone is professional.
Q. What would you be doing if you were not acting?
A. Would definitely be playing music.
Q. What do you look for in a woman?
A. Someone who has intelligence and very independently strong, like his sister Heather/
Victoria Newman.
Q. Would you like to work with Sharon Case/Sharon Newman?
A. Yes, I would love to. She's great. She's a lot of fun. Would love to work with a lot of
people on the show I haven't had the opportunity to work with.
Q. Who showed you the ropes when you first came on the show?
A. My sister Heather who has been with the show for 10 years. She basically showed
me where everything was on the set.
Q. What instrument do you play?
A. I play the drums.
Q. What actors do you look up to?
A. Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro.
Q. What has been your favourite moment at Y&R?
A. I always have a great time on the set. Pranks that people pull on the set are so much fun.
(I can think of another moment - locking the door to your bedroom Sweet Billy to keep the
boogie man out)
Now with the closing of the Q&A segment of the show, we moved onto auction fund raiser for the Hospital for Sick Children. Some of the auction items included:
a) a red purse used by Sharon Case/Sharon Newman in her New Year's scene with Nick.
b) personal items from Heather Tom/Victoria Newman included - silver loop earrings and a
beautiful black bead necklace.
c) a 3 Deep poster
d) 3 Deep CD's and video
e) 2 autographed scripts
I will let you in on a little secret, I was provided money by a dear friend Heather, who was interested in obtaining memorabilia from Y&R collection. Bidding began, until my highest bid secured Heather an autograph script....even Sweet Billy Blue Eyes did the honours an autographed same. Congratulations Heather!!!!
One note before closing this "fabulous" and most memorable day with our hero DAVID TOM, HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS SWEET BILLY BLUE EYES. Security had to intervene not once but twice between David and over zealous fans whom David was shaking hands with. Throughout the autographing David continued to be a real gem....when the polaroids were taken, again THE MIGHTY DAVID TOM kept that radiant smile glowing and those beautiful blue eyes flashing....He really appreciates his fans. I feel honoured and privilege to have met him, Please stay tuned...next is David's personal appearance on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Peterborough Ontario Canada. So as the sun sets and we retire to our campsite, hopefully, David is tucked safely in his bed with the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE DOOR....SLEEP SWEET BILLY BLUES EYES, SLEEP!!!!
