R'iel' and Ashukuth's Weyr -- Weyrling Stage and Adult Stage

R'iel took a moment to scratch Ashukuth's neck.

"We will do fine," he promised the dragon.

You are not the one with the wings, my friend.

"Hey, you were the one who asked if I wanted to ride you!"

It was not so windy and open on the hatching sands! Ashukuth bespoke with a half-serious fear.

"Now, look at the greens! See! They're already in the sky. I need you to get up there, Ashukuth, you and I are going to be up there fighting Thread!"

That's another thing...
Of course, they flew perfectly. R'iel and Ashukuth began soaring the skies higher and with quicker moves than any Brown, and soon made a name for themselves in the weyr.

They also attracted the attention of some old friends from Blackstone.

A meeting of Blues, Bronzes and Browns mostly gathered atop a windy crag, the riders all dropping to the ground and huddling together.

"Why here?" Someone asked, "this place is freezing!"

"It's not all that cold. Come on, here's Shard." Someone else said.

True to form, the tall man got off his blue Jeremoth last, and strode up to R'iel and W'ick.

"You two have done enough for the weyr in the past, that I trust you," he said. "Could you accept the offer to join these men and women in my wing?"

W'ick and R'iel looked at each other. "Which wing is that, anyway?" W'ick asked.

"Shards Spines," Shard answered with a half-assed grin. "Of course."
Muttering went around the gathering of riders, mostly about how the pair should just accept the offer and get back to Blackstone so they could all have a hot mug of klah.

It sounds like a good wing, Ashukuth bespoke. I am willing to fall into place here, among these dragons. They are strong, and I will prove myself.

"You've done that ages ago," R'iel said, patting the blue on his neck.

"Then you're in?" Shard said, waiting.

"Of course we're in," R'iel answered, tossing his head. "W'ick?"

"Me too," he said, "I suppose. There's nothing better, huh?" He smirked and someone took the time to smack him on the head a good one.
