Hoping that a scholarship will be
Joey's ticket out of Capeside, she scours the library for every possible offer.
When Pacey begs her for help studying math, she agrees - with one condition: He
must accompany her to ballroom dancing classes at a dance studio offering
scholarship money. While studying, Pacey tells Joey an unnamed female has
offered him commitment-free sex whenever he wants. Joey doesn't believe that's
what Pacey wants, reminding him that if it was, that's what he'd be doing
instead of studying math with Joey. At the studio, Joey is surprised to see
Dawson and Jen arrive at the class, only to realize it was his jealousy of some
theoretical relationship between Joey and Pacey that brought him there. Once
that is straightened out, she and Dawson are shocked to find Pacey and Jen
kissing in the coat closet. When she realizes Jen is the person Pacey has his
"arrangement" with, she's irrationally upset about it. Dawson calms her down,
and she later shares a sweet moment with Pacey when she apologizes to him for
overreacting, and he tells her that he and Jen never actually had sex.
