Characters

[SCOTT]
- He is one of the main characters of the show, a sixteen year old boy who arrives at Mount Horizon in handcuffs with a drug problem and an obvious dislike of his stepmother Elaine. Only months before, he had been a fantastic football player, with hopes of gaining a scholarship to college, but now his grades were slipping and he was thrown off the football team. In the first episode we gather that some kind of sexual abuse was occuring between Elaine and Scott, which resulted in his gradual decline. He becomes the leader of the Cliffhangers.

[SHELBY]
- The hot-headed blonde with an attitude problem, and a competive liking for Scott. After being abused by her stepfather, she ran away from home and was forced to turn to prostitution to earn money from living on the streets before she arrived at Horizon. She fights with Juliette in winning Scott over.

[AUGGIE]
- He is the cute little Spanish guy, with an attitude and a dyslexia. He had dropped out of school and joined a gang his brothers had joined, and so had a problem with violence, before he came to Horizon. He has a thing for Juliette, which we notice in the third episode "Walking the Line" when he kisses her rather passionately by the river.

[EZRA]
- He is also the cute little one, who isn't entirely down with all the rules at Horizon. He has a small crush on Shelby, and is also extremely knowledgable on all kinds of drugs. He was adopted by his parents, who were hoping to make somthing last of their failing marriage, but instead Ezra became caught in the middle and turned to drugs.

[JULLIETTE]
- She was the bulimic homequeen, who was pressured by her mother, which ultimately forced her to turn bulimic. Her mother is a complete perfectionist, and is constantly remarrying to different men, which wouldn't have helped Julliette at all.

[KAT]
- She is the smart one, who is quiet, yet a powerful leader. In the first episode, she breaks down when Ezra falls into the river, and we discover later that this is because she was a major swimmer, yet her younger sister had drowned in an accident, and she blames herself for not being able to save her.
