Even the name sounds Asian. As you all know, my biggest club phobia is Asian Night. Not because I have a problem with Asians (I *am* Asian), but because I have problems with large concentrations of Asians. Don't ask me why. Just leave me be to hyperventilate in the corner.

To show support for a friend who was spinning there one night, I hauled a bunch of my friends out to this venue. In hopes of trying to offset the Asian demographic in my immediate geographic location, my group of 8 consisted of 3 non-Asian guys. The rest of my crew was Asian. Being Asian myself, it's actually unbelieveable difficult to have an Asian-free crew.

So what do I think of Jai? Well, for starters, the bouncers at the door were, um, well... excessively friendly. I got the "Daisy Fuentes" line (although it's been a while since I've heard that one) and then the incredibly dirty smile that they always give as they say, "Have a good evening." Creepiness is really not an endearing trait.

So we get inside and I suddenly feel goosebumps (and no, it's not the air conditioning) and find it difficult to breathe. Ohmigod, the place is like PacMall at night! I'm surrounded! They're everywhere!! I rush over to Mike (my big, strong non-Asian VERY PLATONIC friend) and scream "Save me! I can't handle it!" He calmly looks at me and says, "It's not that bad."

I try and take a deep breath and hand my ticket over to the woman waiting at the podium. Hey, I just realized no one checked us at the door. But anyways, I hand her the ticket and I think to myself, Have I lost my mind? I gotta get out of here. But I try and take a few deep breaths and slowly push through the crowd. I get extremely annoyed by the guys who look me up and down and then stand in front of me to try and block me. Don't these guys know that I'm not a piece of meat? Then Mike comes up behind me and they clear a path for me. I'm about ready to make a mad dash for the bathroom when Rose comes up to me and tells me that the place is over-run with people she knows from U'loo.

I think it's safe to say that the evening basically came to a screeching halt at the this point and there's nothing else to write about. No final rating for this place since I didn't really notice anything except the overly Asian crowd. Mind you, my friends did say that the dancefloor area desperately needs more ventilation.

As far as I know, they don't have a website. I got the logo from here: ClubDistrict.com.
