Aresta Family Blog
This blog has been set-up for our family and friends to follow our journey to adopt our second daughter from China.
Entry for February 8, 2007
Hi Everyone,
We arrived home yesterday afternoon. Feels so good to have
to whole family together.
Danielle (BoBo) is doing good. She was a good on the plane,
no fights regarding the seatbeat. In Changsha she was not going
to wear that belt for anyone. She also agrued on the flight to Guandzhou.
But, for some reason on the flight to Hong Kong she put it on and then
gave no problem with it. Figured the car ride home may be also
a battle but because she saw Nicole (Mei Mei) in a car seat so she did
the belt.
She likes her new name and in fact told one of her brothers last
night to call her Danielle, in not so many words.
The 2 girls were up at 2:30AM ths morning. Now Danielle is passed
out on the couch. Since Nicole was up we brought her to school and
Danielle went with us. I think she thought she was staying too.
She seems to be happy with her brothers. Especially James.
She looked sad when he left for school this morning. Then when all the
other kids were gone she played in her room for awhile.
She will start school on February 26th and will be in 2nd grade. The
principal feels she should be in the correct age level and that language will
be learned just as well in 2nd as it would be in 1st.
So far she has not had any problems with sleeping or grieving since
that one day in Changsha. She seems to be adjusting well.

You made it!! HOORAY!! I hope Danielle's transition is not too difficult - altho I am sure the next 6 months will be very hard for her, and for you, as she learns how to live in a family, and learns a new language at the same time. Blessings!!
