It's Friday evening. We are sooo tired. Today we toured the Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It was so cold and windy. Nicole got so cold really fast. It was a beautiful day for pictures. This afternoon we went for lunch with 2 other families to a real chinese restaurant. No one there spoke a word of english. They didn't even understand "rice." John did a great job of picking food from the menu pictures. Then we went to a grocery store. So weird to see so many american foods packaged in Chinese writing. Even the packaging is so different. Gum comes in what looks like plastic vitamin bottles. Only 2 days left and we finally meet Danielle. Love, Doris, John and Nicole - We miss you James, Chris and Robert!
