Weapons:  Sankon Tetsusou (Soul Shattering Iron Claw), Hijin Ketsusou (Airborne Blade Blood Claw), Tetsusaiga (in the anime, it's called 'tessaiga'),Kaze no Kizu (Cutting Wind - done only with Tessaiga) , Bakuryuuha (Explosive Style Destruction - done with Tessaiga again)

Profile:  Inuyasha is a half-youkai (demon) (aka hanyou) who, at the start of the series, was after the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls) who's power could transform him into a full youkai.  Not too far into the series he aquires a sword called 'Tetsusaiga' which was left to him by his father. He was sealed to a tree by the miko (priestess) Kikyou 50 years prior to the start of the story. Inuyasha is very protective of Kagome, although doesn't like to admit to it :P

Weapons:  Bow and Arrows (gradual), special magical (miko?) powers, her gift of talk ^_^;

Profile:  Kagome is a 15 year old highschool student who accidently travels back to the sengoku jidai (Japan's feudal era) through a well near her house (she's from present time Tokyo). She is the re-incarnation of Kikyou who Inuyasha was (and still is) in love with. Kagome has also gained Kikyou's miko powers. In episode 3 she accidently shattered the shikon no tama into itty-bitty shards so she and Inuyasha had to team up and look for them. She can also sense the aura of the shikon shards.

Weapons:  Kitsune-bi (fox fire), and other illusions (i.e - spinning top)

Profile:  Shippou is a young kitsune-youkai (fox-demon) who decided to tag along with Inuyasha and Kagome after the thunder brothers (who Inuyasha does end up killing) killed his parents. He wanted to get revenge for his father by killing the thunder brothers but he wasn't 'quite' strong enough to.  ^^;

Weapons:   Kazaana (air rip/hole), Shakujou (staff), Other monk stuff

Profile: Miroku's family was cursed with an 'air rip/hole' (kazaana) in his hand which, unfortunatly, will eventually swallow him up, like it did to his grandfather and father (it basically just looks like a small black hole in the palm of his right hand). His air rip/hole can suck in anything in its path, which is why he keeps it sealed with rosary beads. He uses the air rip/hole to suck up demons, or anything that gets in his way (attempted to suck in Inuyasha O_o;). The demon who cursed him is Naraku, and if Miroku doesn't want to die soon he has to kill him.  Miroku also uses this story to try and convince girls to 'bare his child' although he doesn't seem to do it as much since Sango joined the group... hmm...

Weapons:  Hiraikotsu (a big boomerang), Sword, Kirara (her pet)

Profile:  Sango came from a village of demon exterminators (youkai taijiya) who were slaughtered because of another of Naraku's evil plans. Naraku now has control over her younger brother, Kohaku, who was killed along with her father at Naraku's castle. Sango also seems to have feelings for Miroku, but denies it as well. ~_~

Weapons:  Bow & Arrow, Miko powers

Profile:  Kikyou is a miko (priestess) who was trusted to look after the Shikon no Tama and keep it pure. She died at the beginning of the series after sealing Inuaysha to the goshinboku (sacred tree). Then in episode 14 / volume 5, she gets ressurected by Urasue, an oni, (demon) using the dirt of her grave and her bones, but she was souless (because the soul had already been reborn), so Urasue kidnapped Kagome tried to extract it from her and put it back into Kikyou.  It was at this time that Inuyasha found out that he and Kikyou were tricked into hating each other by Naraku. Anyway to cut a long story short, Kagome got her soul back apart for all of Kikyou's mallice which allowed her to stay alive, barely.  She needs her Shini-dama-chuu (soul-catching demons) to collect deal souls in order to stay alive.

Weapons:  Bow & Arrow, Miko powers (?)

Profile:  Kaede took over her big sister's role as the Miko in their town after Kikyou's death.  She displays some magical miko powers, but not as much as her nee-sama.  50 years after her sister's death, she meets Kagome, noticing right away her likeness to her now departed sister.  She ends up guiding Inuyasha and Kagome at certain parts of the show and is the person who made both Inuyasha and Kagome cooperate together in this current journey for the Shikon no Tama shards.

Weapons: Tenseiga, Toukijin, Dokkasuo (Toxic Flower Claw), looking too pretty, changing to his demon form, other demon stuff

Profile:  Sesshoumaru is Inuyasha's half brother, and unlike Inuyasha, who is a half-youkai (demon), he is a full youkai (they have the same father). He travels with his retainer, a frog-like demon called Jaken. At first Sesshoumaru was after Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga (aka Tessaiga) but a lot later in the series he gets a sword made called Toukijin that is made out of the teeth of one of Naraku's offspring (Goshinki - who Inuyasha killed ^_^;).  Sesshoumaru posseses a sword named Tenseiga which has the ability to restore life.  He saves a little human girl named Rin (who is an orphen) with it and lets her tag along with him and Jaken. (so cute!)

Weapons:  Staff of the Heads, being annoying

Profile:  Jaken is Sesshoumaru's little annoying sidekick that walks around guarding the Staff of the Heads.  He always is on the sidelines either cheering Sesshoumaru on, or getting the beejeebee's kicked out of him... or both.  ^_^;  (I like the 2nd one personally)  He now usually ends up as Rin's babysitter, and has been killed once (too bad Sesshoumaru decided to have a heart then and revive him using his Tenseiga ;p - but then again, it wouldn't be the same without the little twerp ^^;)

Weapons:  uh... running away?  *shrugs* Being annoying too?

Profile:   Myouga is basically Inuyasha's "servant"... or so he says.  He starts out as being the protector of Inuyasha's father's grave (even though he didn't know the exact location of the REAL grave... ;p).  He tends to always run when the situation gets rough... later coming back when things seem a bit calmer and clear.  He's always full of interesting info for Inuyasha and gang... some being stretched truths, some being rumors, and some it actually being true!  ^^;

Weapons:  Kujutsu (puppets of him), Saimyousho, curses, ability to change forms

Profile:  Naraku is the Evil guy of the series. His name translates to "hell" afterall.  He was born through the wild thief Onigumo's desire for Kikyou, which called dozens of youkai in to devour him. He has the ablilty to change his form into anything he wants, which he did to trick Inuyasha and Kikyou into hating each other. He has used Inuyasha's brother Sesshoumaru to try and get rid of Inuyasha, but to no avail. He also has an 'army' of bug-type creatures called 'saimyousho'.  Naraku is also a half demon like Inuyasha, but born in a different way. Naraku can choose the time of month to return to his 'original' form. He uses this time to re-arrange his body into a stronger and more powerful form.  Naraku also gains the ablilty to make offspring later. Only two of them (Kagura and Kanna) have lasted more than one fight though.

Weapons:  looking cute...? ^^; (hey, it worked for Sesshoumaru!)

Profile:  Rin is a super cute little girl that tags along with Sesshoumaru and Jaken.  She first shows up as a raggy looking orphen with an injured right eye and completely mute.  She meets Sesshoumaru by accidently going to the place of his resting.  He rejects her at first and tells her to go away.  She ends up coming back with some food that she got and offers it to him.  He shoves her away again, but she still persists.  Later when she has gone, and after the wolves attacked the village... he finds her in his pathway... dead.  He begins to walk away, but instead revives her using Tenseiga.  Afterwards, she just ends up tagging along.  :)  (I think Sesshoumaru likes her in more ways then one ^_-+)

Weapons:  Fast speed, um... just fights normally, I guess.  ^^;

Profile:   Kouga is the son of a leader of the wolf youkai tribe.  He has 2 Shikon shards in his legs (one in each) which gives him 'super speed'. Kouga refers to Inuyasha as 'Dog-turd' (inukkoro) because he says he doesn't like the smell of dog youkai. He first comes into the story by attacking the village from which Rin was from (and hated -_-;).  He also says that he is in love with Kagome which makes Inuyasha quite annoyed. Kouga wants Naraku dead because he killed alot of his friends from his tribe.
