Of the twenty-six letters
of the alphabet,
The most intriguing one I've met
Is the crooked one that rhymes with true.
I mean, of course, the letter "U"
There's a "U" Unmeasured in Memories
treasured
Of comrades and friends we once knew,
Over four decades ago - Unbelievable!
The years just took wings and flew.
There was a brave "U" in United,
When the 275th first met the test.
When Hitler's hordes came Uninvited,
And we fought long days without
rest.
There's a "U" in the "Battle of the Bulge",
The place that we fought many days.
There's a belligerent "U" in Unconquered,
As we stopped Krauts in all sorts of
ways.
There's a "U" in the Uniforms we wore,
So proud and straight and tall.
There's a "U,' in the Uncle Sam we loved,
When our backs were against the
wall.
There are two "U"s in Successful,
As we did our jobs quite well.
General Clark was quoted as saying,
The 275th sure gave the enemy hell.

A menacing "U" was in Uncle Sam's eyes,
When he pointed straight at you.
Said, "Come join up with me my boy,
We have a dirty job to do".
There are two "U"s in Beautiful,
Describing friendships made long ago.
And there's two "U"s in dutiful,
In the attitude we tried to show.
There's a happy "U" in Reunion.
With friends we hold so dear.
There's a "U" in Music city,
Another "U', in returning next year.
There's a sad "U" in Eulogy;
Of dear friends gone on above,
And a hopeful "U" to see them,
In that land of perfect love.
I believe this is our ninth reunion,
If I've been keeping the right score.
Here's hoping we can stay together,
For at least a dozen more.
